Help! I just started to make Alex's first birthday invites and I need some thoughts. I have to keep it flat (no brads, ribbon etc) and under 1 ounce total weight since they will be mailed and I am not spending more then I have to on postage. So far this is what I have but I am not happy with it. I feel like it needs something else, something more, something something!! On the back it will have all the info and I will be including a map to our house in the envelope as well. I figured that I would do basiclly the same thing on all of them but maybe change out the dino on a few and they would be different colors... shhh, I'm trying to use up some of my scraps.

Breaking News! Dinosaurs are back! Paleontologist Alex has requested that you join us on our discovery as we celebrate his 1st Birthday. We will be diggin’ it up in dino-mite style at the Williams Cave and Quarry on Saturday May 15th at 2pm. You can expect to uncover some prehistoric fun, yummy food and even a chance to name a dinosaur. Please give us a roar to let us know if you can attend. Don’t be extinct!

Thoughts?? Advice?? Opinions?? Changes?? Feedback??

Love this!! What a cute way to word this invite!!! I agree it need something else, for the blank areas but I'm just not sure what. Cute!

I think the background is missing something. Maybe ink the edges of the card or draw in a background (ex: hills and a volcano).

Love the wording on the back!!! Cute dinosaur too!!!

I like Kelseys idea of the drawing in a background, but another idea is amybe to putmore than "party" in the corner... I'm not creative about titles, but I think it'd help make the card more full looking

I would ink the dinosaur and the edges of the card. What about having some sort of tree beside the dinosaur and then the word party on the leaves of the tree.

What cart did you use for the dinosaur...was it paper dolls?

I love it and I love white space, but I was also thinking you should ink the edges of the dinosaur and the card.

My first thought was also inking the edges of the dino and card - I'd do that and see how it looks, and if it still needs something more look into adding a tree to the right. I like the simplicity of just whats there so I think the inking alone might add whats missing. I love the colors and the dino!
