Well, it’s February! Hopefully that signals the end of snow, cold weather and sickies. I am so tired of all of the above!!

Looking forward to Scrapbuilers for this month. I have the challenges already to go for the crop next weekend and I hope to participate this time. I’ve missed scrapping. I don’t quite think I have my scrappy bug back yet, but I’m getting there. Thinking the crop may help! Actually, what will help is the guys getting to work on the basement so I have my space!

I have tubal surgery this coming Friday at noon. I am a little nervous about the anesthesia and possible pain that may occur. Also worried about how long I won’t be able to exercise. I have my pre-op appointment with my doctor tomorrow, so I have to make sure I tell him my fears and concerns. I am ok with having my two boys and am tired of worrying every month whether we will be adding to our family. I know a lot of people love being pregnant, but I am not one of those. The thought of carrying another child or nursing another is not appealing to me at all. When I was cleaning this weekend, I realized it’s so hard to keep up just with my two, I can’t imagine adding anymore. And the rate germs travel in my house, ugh. I know people tell me that I may change my mind in a couple years, but I don’t think so. Kids are expensive and I want to give them all that I possibly can.

Happy February! I'm with you Amanda in looking forward to spring. I'm so tired of this cold. I hope we are all done with sickies now. A lot of us seem to have been hit hard this year. Good luck this Friday sweetie!!

AFM - I'm busy busy at work, but took a break this morning to check in with you ladies. I believe I'm all caught up here now (at least on this board), so better get back to my work now. I'm looking forward to the crop too, and hope that I can participate. It will be iffy though. I still haven't had a chance to clean my scrap area and with Mark's baptism 2 weeks away I will be busy with that as well. I do print all the challenges out and will do them at some point.

It's funny that you mention the weather and the sickies... so right now I'm sitting in my home trying to stay warm cause we're in the middle of a blizzard (yup, in OK) and all 3 of us have the flu! I'm SO ready for warm weather and this nastyness to be OVER!

Amanda - Good luck on your upcoming appointment! Hope it goes better than mine did.

We are fever free! Carrie just woke up and for the first time in over a week, no one in our home has an unmedicated temperature of over 100!! Progress! (Now if Kate's thrush would just go away, we'd be set)

Hi ladies! Some how *knock on wood* we're all germ free right now. The kids have gotten a few sickies but its me who seems like I've had it the worst. 2 sinus infections and strep so far, not fun.

Amanda - good luck at your appt. I know that has to be a hard decision to make regardless. We really want another baby though its harder for us to conceive so we'll see. I'm one that loves being pregnant. I will agree that on many days I wonder how I could possibly keep up with 3, especially now that Parker is getting into everything (I just let him sit and tear up a magazine in order to type this bad mommy, I know). but I really want another. We're hoping to TTC this summer or when we get back from Disney is September (though if we can swing it we'd love to bring home a little souvenir! Caden was a honeymoon baby). Anyway thats all besides the point and this is about you, sorry! I hope the dr has answers to all of your questions. I understand the wanting to give them all though - some days I think I wouldn't mind 4 but I know we'll be done for sanity and financial reasons at 3.

Becky - Get cleaning! You have this week and next, I want to see a pretty organized space! No excuses!!!

Alycia - Glad to hear Carrie is fever free! How is she doing with her tests and appts? I know you had a bunch of them a while back but didn't know what the outcome was (though I understand if you don't want to bring it all up and post on a public board )

We're getting ready to face the big blizzard haha, we'll see. I'm busy working on my scrap space. I have everything painted and put back together but need to start working on the play area and actually organizing my stuff now. The boys are definitely keeping me busy during the day and when I get a free minute I'm trying to work on my space so sorry to be a little missing! I can't wait until its done. I still need to get the house better cleaned and organized, too, and then work on getting us into a better routine again.

I don't mind posting any of it on a public board, I just didn't want to monopolize anyone's time, but since you asked

In November, Carrie had new testing (they were looking for seizure activity). It turns out that epilepsy was a misdiagnosis. The last test they saw seizures on the right side of her brain, now they see "spikes" on the left and slow brain waves. (Don't get me started on how the same test can show two drastically different things, cause even they don't know and I think they're all incompetent).

Anyways. Thats her new diagnosis, slow brain waves (static encephalopathy). Usually the condition is accompanied by something like Cerebral Palsy or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, but she has neither so she has no prognosis. They said she'll never walk or talk, but she's got 1 word vocab and can take 7-8 steps independently already, and since the condition isn't regressive, she's already proving them wrong.

We were waiting on a series of blood tests that they took at that time to find a cause for the slowness, and all came back perfect except one which THEY FORGOT TO RUN! I've been avoiding taking her in to get it cause it means another needle, so it'll be a while before I do it.

Carrie's just started 2 physical therapy sessions a week and LOVES it! Mon - Thurs she has private therapies and School, and Friday it's just school. We've just started the PECS (picture exchange communication system) with Carrie and she's doing great

Kate was just evaluated for delays as well and was found to be behind. She won't be starting therapies just yet (they say she's behind cause she's mimicking her sister, so they don't think she needs it), but if she doesn't catch up rather soon she'll be in therapy as well!

When I said last year that Chris had a new work schedule. It was that he was in another state at a school (which I wasn't supposed to mention, for some BS Army reasons until he was out of it) and he's just deployed to Afghanistan for 6-12 months (we won't know the duration until it happens)... He was recently home for 3 weeks, but he's gone again (he JUST missed all this flu nonsense)

So I've been a single mommy for the last 6 months and will be for the next 6-12 months. (Which is why I've been so behind on my scrapping). Hopefully I'll be able to get back into a good rhythm so I can scrap! Thanks for asking

I can't believe that it is February already. My birthday is in 6 days! I always get so excited about my birthday, I don't mind getting a year older in fact I treasure it. My biological dad died at 27 so ever year passed that I am thankful. I've got my traditional scrap on with all of your help. I am looking forward to doing a lot more pages this month. I got 12 done this weekend. So I hope that I can keep up that momentum.

I hope that everyone has a great week & that all the germies will stay away, & that warmer weather comes for you all. I live in the desert so it isn't too cold here lately, just a little windy.

Hey ladies. Sorry to be such a flake. I bought 2 cricuit carts lately and haven't gotten around to using them! ((Beyond birthdays and All Mixed Up. Both were on clearance at walmart for $25.))

Erin's been asking to "make a page" and I keep telling her I need to do dishes or fold laundry first and then I invariably end up taking a nap...and it's all over from there. lol

Alycia: I hope that they get Carrie figured out soon. I don't blame you for putting off another blood draw. Poor little girl.

So, it's -9* today (with windchill of -23*) so I'm thinking it's a not-go-anywhere day today!

i agree Amanda, i am so tired of being sick and the kids being sick. I'm finally better but Holden is still coughing and has a very runny nose, Tristan is still coughing and Ryland just started coughing. DH is still good and i hope it stays that way. i feel so bad for him because he is working full time and is working on side projects at home so that we can pay our bills, hopefully after this one he can take a break.

i will be thinking about you Friday, c-section recovery is about 6 weeks usually maximum you can probably start exercising as early as 3 weeks if you heal well. How old are you Amanda? Here they won't do it if your under 28 unless you have a lot of kids and you have counseling. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Becky i can't wait to see the pic from Marks baptism and what you do with them, it's such a great day

Alycia it is cold here too, -21c but sunny, so it's deceiving when you go outside, you think it's nice but it isn't. i have a blanket here in my chair by the fireplace (unlit and cold air coming from it. Yay for Carrie being fever free and sorry about Kates thrush, hope it goes away quickly. i am so glad to see that Carrie is proving the doctors wrong, and i hope she keeps doing it. Alycia i admire you and your strength, i can'e be easy being on your own for all this. If you ever need anything just let me know, and i will help any way i can.

Carrie i hope you conceive easily this time, we took 2 years and clomid for ryland, a year naturally with Tristan and 2 months for Holden so maybe it will happen soon for you guys. i think you need to crack the whip at me too i need to be cleaning too.

April , yay for birthdays. Do you have any plans? Way to go getting 12 pages done, i didn't get any .

Hi Brittanie, how is the beyond birthdays? i have all mixed up and i really like it. How are you feeling today?

Today is an inside the house day for us today too. Both the boys were out of school today and I only had to go out to drop off a form at Ryland's school. I times it for when Holden naps since he naps really good in the bucket seat. he is still napping now I made a playdate for Friday so i don't have to think to much about missing my grandpas funeral. i feel horrible missing it but it's a 12 hour drive i would have to make by myself with 3 kids on horrible road conditions, and i can't afford the gas money let alone 3 plane tickets. They are having a memorial in the spring though to scatter his ashes so i will go out then, the roads will be fine then. I really hope to get out of my scrappy rut today, i am going to decorate a shoebox for Ryland to keep his transformers in

Thanks! For the most part of her life I've been doing it alone (stupid Army) and it's getting easier. I appreciate the support though... it nice to have people to talk to sometimes

Carrie point that whip in my direction too. I'm so active on JM today cause I'm desperately avoiding cleaning and since I'm snowed in, I have no real other excuse not to be

Amanda - good luck on Friday....that is a big surgery to be having. I hear you on the whole sickies and the weather. I really want it to be over with!

Carrie - I can't wait to see your new space!

Becky - Don't forget to show us pics of Mark's baptism.

Alycia - you amaze me! I couldn't even do 2 days of being a single mommy before wanting to lose it.

Tamara - I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Huge hugs to you!

AFM - I am getting ready for Sydney's 7th birthday party. The invitations are all done and given out. I am doing a camp rock theme and I am using the Rock Princess cartridge to make the invitations and the decorations. I plan on making a banner and decorating the goodie bags. I am going to make cupcakes and I want to think of some other things to do for decorations.

Today i had a doctor's appointment to have a spot looked at on my leg. It has been there for a while now and I didn't think much about it. I asked my doctor in December about it and she didn't like the colour of it so she sent me to a specialist. They did a biopsy on it today at the appointment but the doctor is pretty sure it is nothing serious. Just something that some people get. It is called a Blue Nevus mole. It didn't appear on my leg until a couple of years ago. I have several other moles and birthmarks so I guess it is just something I will get over time. I will hopefully know in 7-10 days the results.

We recently purchased the kinect for the Xbox 360 and I am loving it! We have the Adventures game that it comes with (boy is that a work out), the Kinectimals game for the kids, the sports one and the Dance Central one. I can't dance worth a darn but it is fun to try

Amanda, I hope everything goes smoothly on Friday!

Becky, I hope to see some pages from you during the crop! But I suppose the baptism should come first..

Carrie, I look forward to seeing your completed scrappy room!

Alycia, you are an amazing woman to be so strong for those girls!! They're lucky, and so is your husband!

April, happy early birthday!

Brittanie, I hope the pregnancy is going well, and I hope Skittles allows you to get some scrapping done soon!

Tamara, so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I'm sure he wouldn't want you driving in dangerous conditions. Hugs to you.

Jen, I hope the results are good! Also, I got to play some Kinect a while back and it is so much fun.. I WANT! That adventure came truely is a workout! I think it would be good for me!

I am doing good! I haven't been on my actual computer much since the internet on my phone is faster than on here. I just end up not checking on you ladies as much as I used to. I'll have to find a happy balance somewhere so I don't miss too much here! I also haven't been doing too much scrapping, or organizing. I can't seem to get motivated! I hope to get some new scrappy stuff on Monday and hopefully that'll get me going again! I'm needing more boy stuff for my brothers album.

I don't envy any of you in the freezing cold weather! It's been mostly nice here in AZ, but today it was pretty cold (50s is cold for us!) and sooooo windy!! Tomorrow should be the same, then hopefully the wind will die down.

Who has Super Bowl plans? I'm not a football watcher, but my husband and I are going to (separate) super bowl parties. He's going to his sisters and I'm going to my best friends. So it should be fun!

Okay, I'm sneaking in here (trying to avoid that whip of Carrie's)

Carrie - can't wait to see pics of your new space. Your last one made me drool. How was the snow event? Are you eating your words today about the snow? and I too hope you conceive easily this time. A vacay baby would be awesome.

Alycia - I too hope that they figure out the diagnosis with Carrie soon. I'm glad she's doing so well and proving them wrong. Hope she continues to enjoy therapy and improve. Also hope Kate's thrush improves soon to. Big huggies on being a single mommy for a while. I hope the months pass quickly for you. Are you able to stay connected with skype with your DH?

Amanda - are you enjoying the break in temps today? It'll be close to 50. I hope you didn't get affected by the snow/ice. We got missed in my neck of the woods, but I did see Winchester got some. Stay safe if you're affected. I hate ice, would rather deal with lots of snow anytime.

April - it is so hard to believe it's February already. I don't know where the days are going to these days. Yay for getting 12 pages done this weekend. Can I send you some of mine to do? (no one ever takes me up on that offer . . . )

Brittanie - hi sweetie! You're not a flake. I too have some new cricut carts (I got some at Michaels for $9.95 clearance - Paperdolls, Robotz & Nursery Rhymes) and I haven't had any time to play either. Hopefully soon you'll feel up to it. I also got a few others in the last few months here & there, and haven't had a chance to play with them either.

Tamara - I'm so sorry about your grandpa sweetie. **hugs** I hope DH stays healthy too. It's never fun when sickies spread throughout the house. I will of course share pics of Mark's baptism and already jotting down ideas for pages.

Jen - Those invites sound cool! Can't wait to see them. And the banner & goodie bags too. (I'm collecting ideas for Mark's bday so could use all the suggestions available please). I hope the results come back good for that spot on your leg.

Janessa - I think the baptism "should" come before scrapping to. Hopefully afterwards, I can have a little time. DH & I will probably watch the game, but we're not addicted to it like some are here. I do kinda like the Packers (I'm ducking since I do live closer to Pittsburgh) - overall I just enjoy watching a good game when I can.

Okay, here's my gripe ladies. This may sound horrible, but I should get more done (scrapping and organzing) when MIL goes to visit BIL & SIL again. She said in March, before Easter she'll probably go out to Ohio for a short visit. I do love her dearly, but lately she has been in the "helping" mood and I can't organize or clean my scrap area (or any area in the house really) with her help. It involves constantly stopping & explaining what everything is, why do I need it, why do I keep it, why do I need all this stuff for scrapping when I don't have time to scrap, and then turns around and asks if I have any updated pages from Mark's album to show to friends. Grrrrr!!! I'm complaining in a lovingly way here as she is a real sweetie and 99.9% of the time I have no complaints. Lately though . . . (so Carrie, does that give me a break from the whip?)

I totally forgot the superbowl is coming up. We missed it last year just by not realizing that it was Superbowl Sunday. Obviously we're not that into football (we do USUALLY watch the big games) but this year and last year we weren't into any of the champs.

Tamara - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I lost mine 2 years ago this week. He and I were very close. I was also unable to make it to the funeral. I'm glad you'll be able to be at the memorial in the spring.

Becky - Yay for baptism! I was just baptized this last weekend and Katie bug was a couple weeks ago. The church she was baptized at is dismembering and she will be the last baby ever baptized at that church. It was bittersweet to see it.

We won't be able to skype, but we'll be able to talk on the phone sometimes The way the last two deployments have worked I'd get a call about every other day. Since this one is to a different place, we're expecting a couple phone calls every other week.

April - You are on a ROLL! Wanna share your mojo with the rest of us?

Alycia – I hope they figure out everything with Carrie soon. I’m so happy to hear she is already exceeding expectations with walking and talking though! That has to be tough being basically a single parent right now, especially with all of Carrie’s appointments and such – Do what you need, scrap and post when you can, we’ll always be here and love when you have time! I’m glad you’ve been around more lately, too I hope your DH’s deployment is closer to the 6mo than 12.

Tamara :hugs: I’m sure your gandfater would understand and I’m glad there will still be a memorial you can attend.

Jen – the party sounds fun! I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts for good news when your test results come in.

Janessa – I hope you’re inspired soon! I could care less about the superbowl but DH is big into sports. I think we’ll just have a little mini party here at home with the boys and I’ll make some snacks and pick up some things from the store. We might order in, we’ll see! I’ll probably go downstairs and work on my space

Becky – excuses excuses ! That has to be frustrating and you can still love someone while needing space, so understandable. Hopefully you’ll get a little time to yourself before she leaves! Maybe ask DH if he can distract her? lol that sounds bad but you know what I mean. Not necessarily to scrap or organize, but to just get a little time to yourself to do whatever.

………………………….

Its been a crazy few days! Yes, we did get a lot of snow but it’s the drifts that are the issue. Now its friged with horrid wind chills and the freaking sump pump froze. I’ll keep an eye on it and if it gets too high I’ll suck it up and head outside but it should be able to wait until DH gets home and he can go deal with it lol.

DH went back to work today – the roads are still messy but drivable. He would have made it to work on time but the car in front of him by the office got stuck on the train tracks WITH a train coming. Luckily everyone threw it into reveres and the car got off the tracks on time.

We got the driveway and garage shoveled out last night so we’re good there. Eventually we need to shovel out around the house in hopes that when this melts its not too bad. And the side of the garage is just bad. It has to be chest deep – completely snowed in. The sidewalk still needs to get done, too. Yesterday was garbage day but that didn’t happen so we put out the garbage today. We were the only one on the street with it out but good thing we did since the truck just came, hehe. We didn’t get mail yesterday and not sure if we will today. I have a SU Order held up that was supposed to be delivered yesterday but instead hasn’t moved since Tuesday. If they move it from where it is now to the sort facility today it will be here tomorrow but we’ll see. I personally think its getting a little ridiculous at this point but whatever. It snowed, its messy, its cold, time to get over it. I know the city (Chicago) still has issues with side streets but we’re pretty clear here. Our street is plowed though they didn’t do the parking side yet. Steve said the roads aren’t good and 100% clear, but they aren’t terrible. I would have loved another snow day with DH though he still had to work from home most of the morning, but now its just time to clean up.

well i still have sick kiddos, Holden seems to be on the mend though, he was happy yesterday and today. Poor boy had to have his shots yesterday but was still happy later. Tristan is still hacking away poor kid but is acting normal otherwise and the coughing is mostly early morning, he went to preschool today and had a blast and no coughing fits, Ryland i'm not sure, he seems to look like he will get sick for a day or two but then seems ok. Fingers crossed he won't actually get sick and only have a little cough. It felt great last night to do the scrapbuilders and to make a page tonight as well. i also started on Ryland's valentines mailbox for school. i hope it turns out good

I haven't been here in a few days because I'm trying to get on top of all my digital commitments. So I haven't gotten a chance to traditional this month at all. Boo! I really got my mojo from you ladies, but I feel bad because I haven't been able to keep up with all the personal business. I'm sorry. It's just been crazy around here & I'm not sure it will die down. We have Girl Scout Cookies, Father Daughter Dance, Dh is going out of town, & I have an all day scrap coming up. Wheeeew! I am going to traditional for my all day scrap though, that's on the 19th. I just need a sitter.

Hi ladies! How was everyone's weekend? I hope all the sickies are feeling better & better. **hugs** My weekend was good, just busy. We had Mark's god parents over on Saturday going over final details and stuff as the baptism is 2 weeks away. I think we're pretty organized though, so it should be okay. I just need to figure out an outfit to wear.

uggh, I hate shoveling snow. Can't wait to see those shelves up in your scrap space.

DH & I are thinking of installing more shelves in our bedroom & the basement rec room for our DVD collection, my mini teapot collection, & to hopefully give Mark some playroom down there. We bought some materials, thinking of the track style, just need to find time to play with it and start installing. Hopefully soon, after the baptism.
