I know it seems as if I fell off the face of the planet but after many excuses, mentally and physically I am back. I am pretty slow but it just occured to me that I have like 4 months before the baby gets here and I hadn't finished Beau's 8x8 pregnancy album from last year and I have just barely scrapped the new baby's pregnancy test pick let alone any tummy pictures or U/S picture plus I am super behind on just my regular pages...I need to get going!

Cute Janessa! I love how you looped the 3 on the ribbon! Is that cloth or just patterned paper inside the elephant's ears?

Nicole - those are great pages, I love the colors. And so nice to see you posting again, I was wondering where you'd been.

Janessa - that is an adorable card. It seems like yesterday when you were saying you'd never made cards before. Now look at you.

Its fuzz that I bought on clearance a while back and never used. It just comes in a little tube and you pour it on top of glue. it was fun to finally use it!

I didnt even realize you ment that "fuzz" lol.. I was thinking like paper that was fuzzy. That stuff in the tube turned out great!! To bad the poor Elephant is now missing both eyes, the #3 and the legs are torn off (though I put it back together) Kids are hard on home made stuff!

I got 2 cards done today!! I'm posting 1 now....but the other I am going to wait and post it for next week's Tuesday Tutorial.

Birthday card for my grandpa - background is DCWV jewel tones textured paper with a white core that was embossed and then sanded. Sentiment is heat embossed with clear powder over green stamped image.

Okay, so this isn't a page or card, but it's definitely my current project! MY NURSERY!

Before

After (well, almost)

I'm going to be making a curtain for the closet out of this, and probably a valance too, and something else, I have quite a bit of extra

Tomorrow I take off the tape and do touchups and then start on the decals!!

I really like that card, Kelsey!! I love to sand my paper after I emboss it, especially when it has the white core - really makes the embossing pop.

Brittanie - I can't wait to see more pics. The fabric is such a cute fun pattern.

Really?? That's funny as I thought you had before. Did you use actual sand paper or an emery board? I usually use an emery board, it's easier to hold and sand where I want.

Nope! LOL!! I never had any paper it would really work on until I bought that DCWV Jewel tones paper pack. I used sand paper and just like you I found it kind of hard to hold to sand where I wanted. I think I may try finding a small piece of scrap wood (from working on our basement) and staple it to that so I have something bigger/easier to hold on to.

I did a little, but that's because I was impatient. I know how to keep it from bleeding and I just didn't do it. (silly me, spent forever touching up the lines!)

You lay your tape, and then paint over the edge in question first with the base color it's covering (in this case it would have been the brown), so that what bleeds is the same color as the wall underneath. After that's dry, you paint over in the accent color. It takes slightly more work to get the tape off, but the lines are so crisp.
