Hi Ladies!

I'm Jo, mom to Ellenore and I'm a total paper scrapping addict. I hope it's okay if I pick your brain a bit since I'm not a regular poster here. I'm actually scrapping right now and I'm having a hard time with some super glittery paper I'm working with. I thought maybe you ladies would have some ideas for me. I just finished the page and put it in the plastic page protector and there is now glitter stuck all over my pics and the page protector. And it's dark brown glitter so it's really noticeable. Is there anything I can do to keep the glitter on the paper only? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hi Jo!! Of course you can pop in and pick our brains!! I have never used glitter paper before (however it is on my products to try list) so I don't know how well my suggestions would work. I have read on some other sites to use: glossy accents (but I think this would leave a clear shiny layer on your glitter, Mod podge (which I know nothing about - it's another product I have never tried), an acrylic spray sealer or fixative (again a product I don't know anything about) and hairspray (but have heard that yellows over time and I am not sure how photo friendly it is. Hopefully some of the other girls will have some good suggestions for you.

Hi Jo! Good to see you stopping down here to visit.

I haven't worked with glitter much in a while (other then some titles I did recently for a swap), but I use mod podge for paper as my adhesive. I "paint" it on, then sprinkle the glitter, tap off the excess and let dry. It takes about 10 minutes to dry. This should probably work for glitter paper too.

Thanks ladies! I have mod podge around here somewhere so I'm going to test it out on one of my glitter scraps and see what happens.

Let us know how it does. If I have a chance, I'll try it too this weekend.

Hey ladies, just wanted to tell you that the scrap turned out okay so last night I used the mod podge on my whole page and it worked! The paper I'm using is pink with brown glitter polka dots so I just put a little dab of mod podge on each polka dot to contain the glitter. If I can get my camera back from the dead today I'll take a pic of the page. Thanks again for the tip ladies!

glad the mod podge worked for you, what i have done in the past if there wasn't to much glitter on the page is brush off the loos glitter with a large blush brush, it works pretty well

Here's a pic of the finished page, just basic, nothing too exciting. The pics are from when my DD Ellenore was 6 months old (she's 14 months now). It's part of a two page layout, but I didn't think to include the other page in the picture. Oops!
