Tuesday Technique/Tutorial 12/6/11 - Embossing Metal

Today's technique/tutorial is: Embossing Metal

Here are a few tutorials for this technique:

Approximate time from start to finish: About 2-5 minutes to do the embossing (if using a pop can, it takes longer to cut the can than it does to actually do this technique).

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1.

Suggestions: If using a pop can - the edges will be very sharp so be careful!

If you run the pop can through a big kick or cuttlebug or similar machine with a die, it will dull the edges of the metal for you!!

You can emboss with either a machine or by hand with a stylus or tough ball point pen.

You can emboss pop cans, aluminum foil glued on cardstock, metal sheets bought in craft stores, lots of options.

I wish I had some kind of embossing tool/system because I love how that looks!

I've embossed pop cans before, but it's been a while. I love how it looks on that card, what emboss folder did you use?

It is the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder.

Thanks! That's one I don't have. I have way too many emboss folders too, but they are at least nicely organized.

Thanks to the organization system you shared, my stock of embossing folders and my texture plates are all organized too!! Thanks again for sharing that organizational idea!!
