This one is simple. Just use something new. Something that you bought in your most recent scrappy shopping trip, or just something you've had forever but never used.

The orange is embossed with a texture plate from a package I bought fairly recently, but haven't gotten around to using yet.

Erin chose the paper! lol. She was very adamant about it. And the embossing wasn't with a machine. It was a hand tool and it was exhausting. lol But I like the result.

Too cute Brittanie! I also love the strawberry paper! Doing that embossing by hand is definitely a workout! I wonder if rolling pins work on texture plates like they do embossing folders??

I'll have to try it but I don't think so. The folder has a two sides that fit into each other right? with the paper between them? The plates are only one sided, so the rolling pin wouldn't press the paper into the spaces. I have a little tool with metal balls in the bottom that presses the paper into the grooves.

Yes, the embossing folders have 2 sides. But my texture plates also work in my big kick which is what made me think the rolling pin might work. I will have to give it a try too (with the rolling pin) and see if it works or not since now I am curious. I've done the tool with the metal balls and it is definitely a pain!

Well went down and tried the rolling pin on the texture plate. It does not work. Tried it both plain and with a foam mat and neither way worked. It must work in the machine because it is getting a lot of pressure from both sides. Something you can't really duplicate with a rolling pin on a table.

By hand... WOW. that sounds time consuming! (but very worth it)

Such a cool page. I cannot imagine hand embossing, that's a lot of work.

It didn't show up as well as I had hoped, but the fancy brackets are a stamp that I had never used.
