Today's technique/tutorial is: Inlaid Embossing or Quilting

Here is a tutorial for this project: INLAID EMBOSSING TECHNIQUE! - YouTube

Approximate time from start to finish: I'm going to say about 5-10 minutes.

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1.

Suggestions: You can use punched out images, cricut cuts or even paper flowers.

The more layers you have, the harder it will be to run through your embossing machine.

Here is a card I made using this technique:

Here is a close up of the inlaid embossing:

You may need to be a member of Splitcoast stampers to view this, but here is an example using paper flowers: Splitcoaststampers - Tutorials

Now it is your turn! I challenge you to give this technique a try!!

Very pretty card and technique. Some days I wish I had an embossing machine. (My mom could get me a Sizzix) But it's one more thing I'd have to buy accessories for. Id rather dump my money into paper or a Cricut cart if I found one I really wanted

so pretty, and if your not a member, (I'm not really don't know why i haven't signed up) just go to their resources page and you can find it listed there. That is what I do when the links don't show up. If i want to see examples of the card i go to their gallery page and search for what ever technique I was interested in

I don't have any embossing folders... but I do have a sizzix. Off to look for an embossing folder...

While I was watching that video I saw others on the side and one of them was a way to use any stencil that you have as an embossing folder...which sounds really cool. Watched video and it looks like all you would need to get is a rubber mat of some sort....still need to figure out what kind, but now that I think about it an old mouse pad might do the trick
