**Points for the October 2012 post/scrap challenge! If you make a page or card using this technique and post it in this thread, you will get 5 points for the October 2012 post/scrap challenge. You have until 11:59 PM Mountain time to try this technique and get the points!**

Today's technique/tutorial is: Ribbon Frame

Here is a tutorial for this technique: Waltzingmouse Makes...: ...Ribbon border how-to

Approximate time from start to finish: I'm going to say about 15 minutes (Although it took me about 30 with all the distractions today and an unbelievable hour and a half to do the full page!)

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1.

Suggestions: I scored a "frame" around my picture so that I could get straight diagonals at the corners.

You could probably use nestabilities to emboss a frame for the ribbon to go inside (I'm thinking this is what the lady did in her tutorial)

Would definitely be faster and easier if you had a slit punch!

Here is a layout I did using this technique:

Now it is your turn! I challenge you to give this technique a try!!

GRRRRR.......transferred over from photobucket sideways again. Hopefully it rotates soon!!

Nicole and Kristy, your pages are cute! And made me want to try this even more! I need to finish sewing Allison's dress quickly so I can get to it!

The piano embellishment is covering up a letter...... A long time ago I bought an Alphabet paper stack and I really don't know why I did because I really don't care for the paper..... So I basically rip and cut up the paper for small stuff..... But I thought the paper was pretty so I just put the piano over the top.

"It's not a mistake, it's an opportunity to embellish" .....well, in this case it's not a mistake, but it IS an opportunity to embellish

I put the slits too close to the edge of the paper and accidentally ripped one corner. Maybe I should have used a thicker cardstock?

Great card Brittanie! You may have needed a wider slit for your ribbon?
