It seems like paint sample projects seem to be a real big thing lately. How do you feel about using the free paint samples that you get at hardware stores for projects? Do you or would you feel guilty taking these for anything other than picking a paint color?

I've not noticed any stores doing that yet out my way, but I've not shopped for paint in a while. I know I had to pay for a small sample can a few years back.

I have no problem using the color cards. I was thinking you were talking samples of actual paint, which I've never seen for free either. I like the idea of the book, but I hate being able to see the color names, etc, on them.

The frakenstein and candy corn are ADORABLE
Happy Song likes this.

I think the projects that I've seen using them are super cute! But, I may be the odd one out here, I don't think I could take the samples (or chips as I have found out they are called) to use for my scrappy and crafty stuff. It just seems wrong to me. Maybe if they had a coin box (like they have in some stores for loose candy...3 pieces for a quarter) that uses the honor system I could do it. So I'm going to mark other. I don't think I could do it, but I don't think it is quite like stealing because they are free.

I also agree about the paint names showing....would drive me bonkers! LOL!!

this is like an old thing coming back around again. However I feel that i shouldn't take too many. I have some on a page I did, and I agree i made sure the names didn't show. I like the Disney colors they are shaped like Mickey ears, the ones I have might be a decade old though. plus the ones i have are from when i was picking paint for my house.

Yeah, I don't pick them up unless I'm actually picking paint. So there's a little legitimacy there. I don't think I'd just go pick them up unless I was seriously thinking about getting paint.

If I was actually planning on buying paint, then I might grab a few for crafting too. That's probably the only time I'd do it though. I would feel guilty otherwise.

I thought you meant sample paint, not these cards. I've not even thought about using these before for a project. The names showing though would drive me bonkers to.

i have used them maybe twice. but they were ones i took for actual paint sample to see what i liked in our house. I was disappointed to see that Home Depot stopped making the Disney (mickey mouse) chips, the boys always wanted to take one home and i used one once on a birthday card ( i just took the back off). the page i did was for a challenge here once

here is the card, the "balloon" is the paint chip

That is such a cool idea! I never thought about using those. I too wouldn't just go grab some just for scrapping and I definitely wouldn't have the name showing. Adorable!
