**Remember, if you use this technique on a card or layout (that is not used for any other challenge in the post/scrap challenge) and post it in this thread by 11:59 PM Mountain time on June 29th 2013, you will get 5 points toward the post/scrap challenge! And scoring your paper for a fold doesn't count. LOL!**

Today's technique/tutorial is: Scoring as a decorative element

Here is a tutorial for this technique: No tutorial

Approximate time from start to finish: Only a couple of minutes

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1.

Suggestions: If you don't have a scoring board, you can use your paper trimmer and a bone folder or stylus to score your lines.

Here is a layout I did using this technique:

Now it is your turn! I challenge you to give this technique a try!!

I actually have a paper trimmer with different blades and I believe it has a scoring option and I've never used it.. I'll have to! That page looks great!

For anyone that is wondering...I used liquid pearl to make the pearls where all the lines cross.

Stickles would work great! You could also use buttons. I've seen a page somewhere where they used scoring but didn't use any accents and it looked great...can't find it now though.

I was lazy and used Kelsey's page for my sketch too. Since I had to wing the scoring I did squares. I used both my 8inch fiskers cutter and my 12inch rotery cutter for the long side and a mechanical pencil with the lead pushed in. As you can see the small cutter worked best.

I made an icecream cone for a page. Scored the lines, folded them and inked edges to look like a cone. Turned out pretty cool. I have to print the pics for the page, so it'll go in my unfinished pile for now.

Thanks, Kelsey. The problem with scrapping at night is my pics don't turn out well so it's hard to see the scoring lines. I'm glad I inked them, or you couldn't see them at all in the pics.
