**Remember, if you use this technique on a card or layout (that is not used for any other challenge in the post/scrap challenge) and post it in this thread by 11:59 PM Mountain time on June 29th 2013, you will get 5 points toward the post/scrap challenge!**

Today's technique/tutorial is: Faux Silk Technique

Here is a tutorial for this technique: Stampin With Jan: Faux Silk Technique and here's a video tutorial: Faux Silk Stamping & Background Technique - Paper Craft Planet

Approximate time from start to finish: 20 minutes to allow ink and glue to fully dry before proceeding. It's only a couple of seconds of stamping, and once dry, seconds to crumple tissue. You can also use a heat gun as shown in the video to speed up the drying process to.

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1. This was super easy to do, and I ended up making 2 sets of these cards (3 each).

Suggestions: An image without a phrase is a little easier, I found that my "congratulations" was a little hard to read on one of the cards after I glued the crumpled tissue to cardstock.

Here are 2 different cards I did using this technique:

Now it is your turn! I challenge you to give this technique a try!!

Will this month be a record for you, Nicole, with the number of cards you made?

You could use this technique for a page embellie to. I think a faux silk heart would look beautiful on a page, or as a ribbon. You don't have to use technique to make a card.

Here is my take on the challenge. if I were to do it again I would pre stamp my stap so it had less ink on it. So you could see the crinkles through the word more....
