That happens to me all of the time. I find I don't have enough stuff in my stash to complete pages the way I want to. Over time I hope to build up my stuff.

I usually suffer from the other way around which is too much stuff on my pages

But really "white space" is making a huge come back in scrapbooking. So as long as your eye is drawn to something then the "white space" is usually good. If you still don't like the way it is looking, try simple layering patterned paper behind it to soften it up.

And if all else fails, then just set the page aside. Usually you find that you are okay with it later, or you'll have a ereka moment and find something perfect later.
