we have a big family vacation scheduled this summer. I'll be around 34-35 weeks. I supposed I'll wait and see how I feel at the time, but we have to start making plans soon. It's a week long trip with lots of driving (10 hours away from home). I mentioned it to my midwife last week and she's mostly okay with it.

what do you guys think?

I personally wouldn't travel that far from home because you never know what's going to happen.

I am in the same boat! I would be 34-35 weeks for our yearly family trip to the beach, but I also tend to have issues right about that time. Both of my kids came just over 38 weeks too. i haven't seen my midwife yet, but i am going to ask her opinion. As long as there is emergency medical care available where you are, and you aren't flying, it seems like it could be possible.

I wouldn't want to be in the car that much that far along. Sounds very uncomfortable.

I personally wouldn't want to be in the car that pregnant. I hated even driving to the city 85 miles one way when pregnant that large, much less even larger. BUT that's completely up to you.

I'd go wherever I wanted at any time, but I am completely okay with giving birth by myself. LOL

I would think generally if you aren't flying and it was at 34ish weeks you should be fine, but I do agree with Kelsey in saying that would be a long car ride at that point. You'd have to take lots of breaks.

Me personally, I don't think I would take a trip that far away when I'm over 30 weeks.

But then again, I'm not sure if I would now....I'd need to stop every half hour to pee. LOL

It would depend on how the pregnancy was going. With my first, she was born at 35 weeks and there were complications leading up to that, so no. My second was grwat and we even flew to Vegas when I was about 30ish weeks.
