In desperation I called the lab itself and got the last supervisor there who also happens to be a dad. He took pity on me and gave me my hcg results.

I went from doubling every 25 hours to doubling every 76 hours. This corresponds to the change in my symptoms. I have a call into my OB and may go into the E.R. to see what is going on because now I am gravely concerned about the pain on my right side.

I'm so sad. This has been a horrible week and honestly, if this goes badly, I don't know that I can go through this all again - the waiting, worrying, wondering.

Just like that, things changed. I'm so sad. But I knew...I just knew something was not right.

UPDATE: First I got "lost" in the system - computer said I was in u/s, nurse forgot I was in the waiting room...2 hours of waiting I finally walked up and asked what was going on at which point they realized oops. U/S tech would not let me see the screen but her words gave away what I was to hear. I was in the hallway and in the room in front of me was a new baby, room next to that was a pg woman hearing her baby's heartbeat with a doppler. My nurse had the same name I was going to give a baby girl. Stupid loudmouth down the hallway was talking about how her daughter went in to have her tubes tied but oh surprise, she was pg.

That's the environment I spent the last 1.5 hours in. Diagnosis: blighted ovum. No development. From cloud nine to deep hole in an instant. I go from shock to grief to rage to numb...again and again and again.

I keep hearing my nurse say that because of what my hcg levels did that I could relax, things looked great.

So now I wait for this to end. Hopefully since the sac was completely empty (not even a yolk sac) this will be fast because I need to move on, to be done.

Good luck to you all, ladies.

I'm sorry you had such worrysome results. I would go in to get some answers. As your #s get higher they do take longer to double....what did the doctor say?

What were your #s? I know when I was in my late 5th week my #s went from 12000 to 25000 Friday to Monday which was over 72 hours. Doctor said that was good.

Ill be praying for a healthy sticky baby for you. HUGS

Well once they get to a certain point they don't double as fast.

((hugs)) I don't know anything about HCG #s but maybe you should go to the ER just for piece of mind or else you'll be miserable with the 'what ifs' tonight. My thoughts go out to you. Please let us know how it goes.

I have also read that once the HCG reaches a certain point, it slows down on doubling time....I have you in my thoughts and prayers

Agree with a lot of the ladies above-- HCG rises differently after a certain point in pregnancy.

"Normal" Doubling Time
hCG levels Doubling Time
Under 1200 mIU/ml 31-72 hours
Between 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml 72-96 hours
Over 6000 mIU/ml more than 96 hours

From this website: Beta hCG Doubling Calculator | Countdown to Pregnancy

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

Just lurking, but wanted to give some hope. I know your a woman of great knowledge of HCG #'s, we were in the same DDC a while back. I also have had the last 6 pregnancies(3 mc's back to back and 3 baby's back to back) followed closely with HCG testing. With my last baby (6wks old now), I had tripling betas from 12 to 14dpo (31hrs) and from 14 to 16dpo they went to 65hrs. I had major spotting, cramping, and my hpt's were not getting any darker from 14 to 17dpo. I went home and waited to miscarry. I never in million years expected my next draw to go back to 31hrs, and it did!! (19dpo and I had a beautiful sac that measured spot on!) Could of been a fluke, could of been a second sac that never developed , as I had two pregnancy cysts , one on each ovary (vanishing twin) not sure, but he's here, safe and sound.

Praying for you and that you fall in the same bucket of luck that I did. I know how nerve racking this is, Im praying for you.
