and it only took 2.5 hours So I get there and walk up to the window to sign in. I ask the lady if she wants my paper and before I could tell her I'm here for a glucose test, she tells me to have a seat. So I do. 45 mins later, she calls me up. I go up, give her my lab paper work from the doctor's office and my insurance card and she says to me kind of ****** "Why didn't you tell me this was a glucose test? I would have given the bottle for you." I said to her "Well, I tried to, but you told me to have a seat, so I did." She looked at me with an annoyed look on her face. Then she asked me if my insurance has changed. I told her No and she then goes on to say "In our system it's billing to TriCare." I said to her "I don't know what to tell you. I've been with the same insurance company since April." She said "Oh well."
This is how the conversation went after:
Her: Are you fasting?
Her: Okay, here is your drink. Come back up when you're done.
*I go sit down*
Her: Kelli, come here please.
Her: Are you fasting?
Her: You know you need a urine sample, right?
Me: Yep, that was on the paper.
Her: Okay, go sit down and drink your drink.
*I go sit down again*
Her: You have 5 mins to drink that
Me: I know. If you'd let me drink it I will have it done in the 5 min time frame.
*I down the drink, walk up to her and give her the bottle*
Her: Okay, 1:30 will be your blood draw.
*I sit back down and she comes over to me with the urine cup*
Her: You have until 1:30 to use this.
Me: Okay, I'm sure it won't be too long before I have to go.
1:35pm I walk up to her and she asks me "You're still here?" Uhh, yeah! I had the glucose test done. So they take me back for my blood draw and I got home around 2:00pm. That was just crazy ridiculous! I really hope I don't have to go for the 3 hour one.
