We have to wait until 20 weeks for our next scan but I'm going to ask if she'd be willing to do it around 18 weeks. Our anniversary is on the tenth of March and I think finding out our babys gender would be an awesome present She also said that the NT scan has to be done in between 16 and 20 weeks so I think that would be a good time to get it. Still have to research what it is though lol

I have an NT scan next Thursday. If I wasn't so horribly anxious, and if I didn't end up having issues that required checking on my uterus and baby, I'd have as few u/s as possible. I do worry that they're not all together safe. There is some data that suggests a higher incidence of speech delays and learning issues with higher number if ultrasounds. Nothing conclusive, obviously, because they hand them out like candy, but enough that sometimes I worry about the babe a little every time.

If I weren't seeing high risk (which is a surprise to me, kind of), my next wouldn't be until 20 weeks unless I opted in for the 12 week ultrasound.

Hubby and I are paying for an ultrasound at 16 weeks though to find out the gender

I have an ultrasound on Feb 1st for the NT scan and then they do the gender scan at 20 weeks at my office. I'm bummed I'll have to wait that long. I think there is a private place that does them several weeks earlier and I may look into that. I'm sure my husband will think it's a waste though, so we'll see.

I am bummed. My office doesn't have an early ultrasound policy. They do not offer a 12 weeks screeening scan, they just go off 8 week and 12 week blood work. They wait until exactly 20 weeks to schedule the anatomy scan and that is it.

If there is something wrong, they will do other scans but the beginning of my pregnancy's are always just fine.

I did decided at 17 weeks to go to the "big" city 4 hours away and pay for a 3d/4d elective gender ultrasound so I can see the baby before the ob will do one.

The bummer part is for ODS insurance only covered one scan. I only say my general practicioner and he couldn't hear the heartbeat at 8 weeks so sent me for an ultrasound then. So never even had a 20 week one. Went to an ob for my DD but back then ultrasounds in offices were not popular so only got a 16 week scan with her.

Really want an ob, just once that does frequent scans. Especially since this is our last baby.

Oh well, patience is a virture right????

They told you 16-20 weeks for the NT scan? I would double check on that, I'm pretty sure they are done at 12-13 weeks?

That would be so fun to find out on your anniversary! I'm hoping we can find out on our anniversary on 2/12, too!
