haha! just kidding. DH is on a night flight tonight and won't be back until around midnight. The dog is snoring on the floor next to me and for once I'm up past 9:00.

So, for fun:

What was your name going to be if you were a boy and/or what other names did your parents have picked out for you?

Do you like your name?

I'll start.

If I was a boy my name was going to be Loren. My name is actually Lara and the only other name that I heard tossed around is that my dad wanted to name me Rebecca.

Do I like my name? Uh... yes and no. I hate the fact that most people call me Lora but I like the simplicity of it. It got more notoriety after Lara Croft Tomb Raider came out.

I'm not sure what my name would have been if I was a boy, or other names they had picked out but I have always HATED my name and probably always will LOL. It is so weird, impossible to spell or pronounce, and is a pain in the ***** for work, meeting people, even going to Starbucks or anywhere they ask your name lol.

This is why we will have Ella, Abby, and Max. Easy to pronounce, spell, and not weird. Lol!

My mom has never told me what my name would have been... now I'm curious...

I like my name, but haven't ever really used my full name. I go by Kelli for the most part. I had a teacher in HS who always called me Kellisa because he liked it, but to me it was my "in trouble" name haha! Plus, it's mispronounced 75% of the time when people just see it written, so that's kind of annoying. But I do like it.

I laughed at your starbucks comment because I must lisp my name or something when I'm there because the name on the drink is never anything close to my name. I always just shrug and say, 'yep, I guess that's me.'

When I do mine at Sbux or anywhere they just stare at me like I have three heads and go "What?" "What???" "How do you SPELL that??" "How did you get THAT name? And then they spend like ten minutes trying to spell and say it, and still butcher it, and then everyone in line is ticked off. lol

So I usually just give a fake name and curse my parents in my head while doing so. Haha

I have no idea what my name would have been as a boy, but the other name my parents were thinking of for me was Barbara. Not sure I like that any better than what my name is. I hate my name. Everyone always says Yolanda and I hate it. That's why my kids all have very common names. I don't want them to have to deal with what I went through.

My name was always going to be Yasmin but they were going to call me by my middle name...Nicole..nikki for short. I have no idea what my boy name would've been. I use to hate my name because nobody said it right. It's actually pronounced like Jasmine and people would question me like I owed them an explanation for the pronunciation of MY name. I like my name now and if people ask I tell them to Google it.

If I was a boy I would have been John called Jack. My brother is named that

The other 2 girl choices were Heather and Courtney. I like my name and I am glad they picked it over the other two!

My mom let my dad name for for some dumb reason! She's always said she was glad I wasn't a boy or else I'd be a Matthew and she's never come across one Matthew that was a good kid! (I haven't either actually).

I hate my name, well not hate my name, I hate that my name is so popular! I mean how original name me the #1 baby name for the years was born in! That's one reason I want non popular names for my kids! Every year there was at least 2 other Jessica's in my class. And we had to choose who'd be call Jess, who'd be called Jessica, and who'd be Jessie! And I was Jess to everyone, if I got unlucky and had to deal with one of the other two names I was one ticked off student for the rest of the year!

My name is Jamie Lynn... my mom was undecided between that and Casey Lynn (for a girl, obviously lol)

If I were a boy, I was going to be Keith Richard... parents were big Rolling Stones fans! haha!!

I have a love/hate relationship with my name. I spent a lot of my childhood correcting teachers on the first day of school or substitutes... without knowing me, they'd read my name and typically follow up with something like "Where is he?"
As I've gotten older it doesn't bother me, but maybe that's because I'm not in school anymore lol

My mom had originally wanted to name me Gabriella but didnt people to call me "gabby" so she took it off. As a kid I used to hate my name because it was so uncommon and teachers would NEVER say it right, now Im okay with it even though nobody ever calls me Brielle lol I much prefer being called breezy or bri though. MY mom hates that so many people call me bri, even though she usually calls me "Missy"

If I had been a boy I was supposed to be Either Joseph Edward or Toby Edward.

The other girl names were Glinda Gayle, Catherine Elizabeth or Catherine Renee.

However, my dad, who used to be in the Navy and later became a truck driver, said that he had never met an Elizabeth or a Renee that didn't have a negative connotation with their name, then he said if I was going to be Catherine after my mom's Grandmother, then my middle name should be after his grandmother. My mom couldn't argue that logic, so my dad said his grandmother's name was Wilena. My mom was like OK..... So after giving birth to me naturally BREECH with no drugs, LOL, and my name was on the Birth Certificate, my dad admitted that he MADE UP my middle name and they could name me their favorite name choice that my Grandmother suggested as soon as she found out I was a girl which was Toby Catherine. However, my mom was mad and told him Wilena was already on the birth certificate and I was stuck with it now.

Needless to say, people have issues pronouncing Wilena. They spell Catherine wrong all the time, and I really would have rather been Toby Catherine. However, now I love my name. My middle name is a combo of my dad's mom-Willie and my dad's grandmother Wilmath, so It's kinda cool that I'm named after so many people that they cherrished.

I was going to be named Richard as they were convinced I was a boy. The girl name that my Mum liked was Ermintrude . Thank goodness my Dad rescued me from that one and they called me Katrina. I mostly go by Kat now.

I don't know, they never told me. I love my name, it's mispronounced a lot, but it doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

I dont know what I was going to be name but I got a lot of "Tina Turner" when I was younger lol. The worst was being teased for my last name. My maiden name is a very long Italian name and everyone butchered it and all the kids made fun of it! I am proud of my Italian side though
