... can your water break without you knowing it, or is that something you can't miss?

I had a dream that I was at work and my water broke, but I thought it was just a typical heavy CM day. I didn't know it broke for HOURS and my baby had almost suffocated in there.

... so now I'm all paranoid that I won't know if/when it happens.

It is possible to develop a small tear or leak and not kknow for some time. Lots of mamas will speak of having to change undies cuase of wetness then realizing, wait. is that my water??? I only had one birth where water broke before labor started. It BROKE and then I had gushes wth every contraction. 2 other labors it broke sometime during the labor, 1 was broken for me durin the labor (induction) and one didnt break until he was actually coming out.

It's possible to leak a little and not know it... but when my water broke, it BROKE! lol I was sitting down in a chair, and all of a sudden it was like GUSH! I told my sister and exhusband, "Either my water just broke or I peed all over myself!!!" lmao! I was already in the hospital thankfully and the nurse immediately confirmed it was my water.
But I don't think you have to worry about it actually fully breaking without knowing it!

I think its possible but baby will not suffocate. Dreams are so real during pregnancy that I completely understand your fear! Dont worry though.

Mine broke with my second. It was just a trickle but I felt it enough to wake me up from a sound sleep. At first I thought I peed myself lol but it just kept up. I was induced the next day.
