My ultimate baby shower would be a shower with NO GAMES!!! Man do I hate baby shower games. I would also like my good friends and both my family and SO's family there but I know SO's family won't come cause my shower is before the baby arrives.
Other than that yummy food and chatting with all the ladies I love.
i did a shower for a friend, and it was really my dream shower. she was having a girl after 2 boys and i made it very pink! i bought different shaped big flower vases at goodwill and filled them with pink netting, flowers and curled ribbon, turned them upside down and put white candles on the pedistools. then around those i had tea candles in small glass holders and flower pedals around them. the tables were so pretty! the food tables had crystal candle stick holders and tapered candles and just soups and salads and a cake... the take aways were homemade cinna buns that had little tags that said 'thanks for coming from amy and her bun in the oven" I loved it and i had nearly 40 people and it cost just over $100! much better than when my parents asked two of my friends to plan my shower and they would pay for it- they spent $400 of rubber ducky crap! i would have rather had the $400!
My dream shower would be exactly like that link, but with lots of gender specific decorations I want it to be co-ed, I dont want to have to sit and open up a bunch of presents in front of people, I dont want to make anybody play any games because I always got bored playing them, and I dont want people to feel obligated to stay the entire time. Basically just a big ol BBQ for family and friends
Location: McDonough, GA by way of Charlotte, NC and my home NY!!!!
Mrskfet that would be mine too!!! I had a sit down shower with my daughter and it was great but I would prefer the drop in method BBQ style shower like in the link it sounds so fun!!! I think it would have to be the shower without DH family they are VERY old fashioned and would not enjoy themselves and I know they would have a lot of nose turning up at it not being the "traditional" type of shower.
