Last Mon, I woke up to go to my dr. appt and had discovered a pain in my shoulder blade and it hurt whenever I breathed. I assumed it was something with my shoulder and I said nothing to my dr. and dealt with it and went to the chiro after my appt. The adjustment was good, but no help. By Tuesday, I was nauseaus and in so much pain I went to the ER. They did chest x ray, EKG, u/s of my shoulder and legs to see if there are blood clots and nothing life threatening. He said it could be a pinched nerve, but couldn't give me steroids. He gave me a perscription for a narcotic which I won't take. The only thing that helps is a heat pad. It's slightly better, but still has not gone away and it's been 8 days. I also had a massage which might have helped a little idk.. I did have a couple nights of uninterrupted sleep, but not anymore.

The pain is in my left shoulderblade, my left arm pit and my left breast, the pain also causes a heaviness in my chest area. I noticed that the next few weeks, that my breasts will begin to produce milk and it's also a rapid time of growth for baby... does anyone else notice anything like this? Ever had it before? Do you think it could have something to do with milk ducts?

Since I changed my military insurance to go to a civilian provider, I'm going to have to pay alot of our of pocket expenses for that ER visit. I am trying to get back on my old plan so I can go see a specialist. I won't be able to do that until early April.

I'm sorry! That sounds completely uncomfortable. I get a lot of tenderness and growth in my breasts during this part of pregnancy. I notice an increase in muscle tension and pain in the front of my shoulders and in my neck (I always assume from the added weight of bigger breasts), but I've never had it wrap around to my shoulder blade.
I hope it resolves soon! And I don't blame you for not taking the narcotic. I wouldn't either. Feel better soon!

How strange! I've never had that. Did you maybe carry/lift/sleep funny on that arm so that it is just strained for a bit? So strange it's from the shoulder to the breast vs down the arm or something. Does stretching help?
I hope you can get the insurance figured out soon so you can see the Drs as needed.

I do have some soreness on the tops on my breasts and into my armpits a bit (more on the left side as well) but nothing in my shoulder blade area that hurts. Whenever that area does hurt though it tends to be from me slouching lol usually DH just comes home and the pain out a little. I hope it starts getting better soon!

wowzers , that sounds incredibly uncomfortable, your braver than me just for coping with it! the only time i felt unbearable pain was when i was 14 and had infected lymph nodes under my right armpit and my right breast with the infection spreading over to my left breast fairly rapidly, however the discomfort was also coupled with searing pain in my breasts and them becoming hot and solid. no pain occured in my shoulder. sorry i cant be of more help x

I've been wondering if it has something to do with my lymph nodes... how did you fix it?

I had something similar about a year ago. It hurt so bad I thought I was having a heart attack a couple of times. My best friend is a nurse in the ER, and she said it sounded like either a muscle or nerve, and the only way to make it go away was to rest it as much as possible. So I avoided doing anything even remotely strenuous, used heat on it a lot, and it did eventually go away. It flares up occasionally, but nothing as bad as the first time it happened.

did the pain kind of go under your arm pit too? it felt one night like it kind of "drained" there and my armpit was lumpy. Also, I have pressure/heaviness in my chest and sometimes my left breast hurts.. but, I wonder if some of it is not related. Thank you for letting me know... It does seem like it is slowly going away, but it's definitely still there.

I haven't had any pain like you're describing but it sounds scary I would call your OB if you can. {HUGS} I hope it subsides SOON.
