Do you plan to use any medications during this birth? If you are going all natural, will this be your first time? If you're using medications, have you used them in the past? How was your recovery from a medicated birth? From a natural birth?

And because we love our C-section Mommas and don't want to exclude them!!: Have you been given your C/S date yet? Have you previously had a c-section? If so, how hard or easy do you feel it was to recover from one?

-----------------------------------------

This time I plan to only use Nubane if I feel like I need it. No epidurals for me, hopefully. I got Nubane and an Epi last time, but I got the Epi too late into labor (literally finished getting Epi 15 minutes before he was born!) and it didn't work, so I "accidentally" had him naturally. The Nubane I only took during the harder part of labor (turns out that was transition but the nurse didn't bother to check me!), and was worn off over an hour prior to me pushing.
Recovery wasn't AWFUL but not fun either. I tore and was sore for probably 6+ months afterwards.

Epidural all the way LOL! with my first pregnancy I was at 4 before I got it, with my daughter I made it to 6, with this one we'll see if I can make it further before the pain overtakes me. I'm not much for pain so we'll see how that goes.

I had an epidural with my other two.
I made it 11 hours without it the second time, however I'd asked for it 2 hours earlier. it just took forever for the anesthesiologist to come down to give it to me.
So if it's a quicker labour this time I might end up doing it without one but if I need it I have no problems getting one

Natural, med free. I had one epi with my first son, after the nurses talked me into it, and it completely stopped my labor. I didn't like the numb feeling either. I think my recovery is easier too after a med free birth.

Providing that the stars align and I can have a Vbac, I will go as far as pain will let me and will then opt for the epidural. I want to enjoy the birth process as much as my body will let me

Yes My C section date is Aug 20th!! This will be my 2nd cesarean and last. The key is to WALK as soon as they say you can. Walking helps with the pain and you heal faster!! Also make sure you take it easy when you get home. =)

Natural here. This will be my 3rd natural birth. I've had 2 epidural births. My natural birth recoveries were so much better.

No clue...we'll see. I had an epidural the first time and nothing the second time but not by choice, because I went from 3-10 in like 20 minutes. It was horrific lol. I hope that if I want an epi this time (which I probably will) I am able to get one!

If I get to labor on my own, I will go natural again. Even if they induce me, I will go drug free.

Now since there is a possibility I will have to have a c/s this time around, I will take whatever drugs they can give me at that point.

we'll see. I plan on going as long as I can but the epi worked out really well for me the last time so I'm not against getting it again.

I will most likely get an epi. With Haeden, I only had back labor. I actually have no idea what a regular contraction feels like because I never really even had BH with him. The back labor was horrible though. My water broke around 9pm and I labored until 6am when they decided to give me the pitocin. I got the epi right after that (thanks to my husband who told them yes while I was in the bathroom. i kept waivering bc i was afraid to get it too early). It didn't slow my labor or make me completely numb. I knew when to push and I felt the ring of fire! OMG the ring of fire. So, not against the epi, but think it would be neat to go drug free.

My mom had two drug free deliveries and she told me to get the epi. LOL

I was told that I might not be able to get an epidural because of my scoliosis correction surgery several years ago. I have metal rods in my back as a result of that. I do plan on getting pain meds through my iv if I can't get an epidural.

I plan on going natural. I have no problem with epidurals at all, but with my history of depression, I am terrified of other chemicals being in me that might get in the way with my brain doing the right things so I can bond with my baby.

3rd C-section here. I don't have my C-section date yet and won't until I am closer to 36 weeks, but I have had the same doctor for 19 years (delivered all my kids) so I know that it will be scheduled for 39 weeks on the dot. So I am thinking an August 22/23 delivery date.

With my first C-section I got an epidural. With my second I got a spinal. Spinal sucked! I will request an epidural this time around. My recoveries were pretty good. Of course I was sore for a few weeks, but I didn't really need any meds for pain after about the first week.

I must be in the minority when it comes to having zero complications with my epidurals. Thankfully mine always went in very smoothly and worked exactly as it should. I never developed any negative side effects afterwards either.

I am going natural this time - didn't last time because I had to be induced. Hoping the baby is smaller this time because I tore very bad and hurt for a long time. The days following the delivery were 10 million times worse than the labor and delivery even though I was on full pitocin for 14 hours with no pain meds.

I'm planning a home birth so that Will mean no drugs. I Had a natural home birth with dd and I was up waking around within minutes of getting cleaned up. And went out to eat a couple days after the birth so recovery was a breeze

I'll be having my fourth section. Most likely around 36/37 weeks due to a previous uterine rupture. Which is around mid/late July. My first csectiong was horrid, took me 2 months to fully recover. My last two were fine though about a week and I was back to normal besides a pain here and there if I did too much or did something too fast. I'll be scheduling it at my 28 week appointment so in 2 months I'll know the date, or at least the date if the amnio comes back that lungs are ready a day before the csection.
