So after a thoroughly disappointing anatomy scan where our tech was short, rude, and not accommodating, I decided that I NEEDED to know our baby's gender and scheduled an elective ultrasound ASAP. I had been very much on the fence about elective ultrasounds (calling me a tightwad would be an understatement), but I was feeling very emotional after the anatomy scan and decided to go for it.

Best $80 (gender determination in 2D and 3D) I've spent in a long time. The tech was SO nice, we got to see our LO moving and waving, I didn't feel rushed at all, and overall was just a great experience.

If you're on the fence about spending the money and wondering if it's worth it, IMHO it totally is. BTW, TEAM PINK!

Congrats on Team Pink!!!

I definitely agree. It was a great choice at 16 weeks just because I had to know.. and then when I got to my 20 week one that got paid for by insurance, the tech didnt explain anything, get me any decent pictures, just sat there and was borderline rude.. I guess they dont understand what its like being a mama learning the gender or seeing their little miracle and wanting it to be more exciting. Anyway.. my elective one was simply amazing.. definitely something I will do with all future pregnancies..
