this is why I think doctors should ALWAYS try their best to save a baby when the baby is born early! Sometimes what they think is "too early" is not after all.

I'd fight and fight and probably kill someone if they didn't try. I recently read a story that a preemie was saved by a pair of scissors! The scissors were left on the scale, and when they weighed her she just made the pound that they have as a limit to even try to save babies! This also puts into perspective how big my lil one is! My lil girl was weighing in at 14 ozs on Monday.

UGGGGGGH that is great and infuriating at the same time!!!!!! I'm so glad that baby was saved but it goes to show other babies who don't make a lb maybe could have been saved too.

I think reading this before bed time was a bad idea. I had a dream I had Zoey early. She was tiny and no one at the hospital seemed worried about her being premature ....but me. I hate dreams like that

I don't understand the thinking. If you can make a decesion to terminate so late and with baby such and such size and the docs go along with it, why would they even try and question wanting to try and save at any size? i am so glad they are thinking of new and improved ways to help people live healthier, longer and savin what couldnt be saved years ago.

I remember reading this story when I was pregnant with my second son. It made me cry then, and I just cried now reading it again. I'm so happy for those parents!

It is so incredible and just puts into perspective what our little babies look like right now inside of our tummies.

You're not supposed to do things like this to an over emotional pregnant lady. What a beautiful story.

Aww, what a great story! My brother was born at just over 23 weeks and that was 16 years ago! They all said he wasn't going to make it, but he did! He had many problems for the first 10 years of his life, and now he's a little slow thinker but he is big and strong and plays hockey!

My cousin was born at 24 weeks and weighed a little over a lbs. He is now a 25 year old quite handsome musician who is one of the smartest people I know. Thank God those drs felt he was "worth" saving.
