I'm a huge coupon fanatic and I started stockpiling diapers in the last part of last year along with wipes. These were either all free or very cheap

The wipes: they are stacked two deep so there are actually more than there appears in the picture

The diapers: the best thing is that if we out-grow a size before using them, I can exchange them for a bigger size thanks to having a great relationship with my CVS girls

BeachMum, Ray88 and mom2K&G like this.

Honestly, most big box stores have unopened box exchange policies. Meaning, if you have an unopened box/package of size 2 and they have grown out of them, the store will let you exchange for the next size. So stock away!

That being said, I have found from talking with lots of mommies that size 3 diapers are the ones babies tend to be the longest. Newborn size is only useful for about 2 weeks, size one for a month or two if you're lucky, size 2 for 3-4 months, and then DS was in size 3 for I think 8 months.

Hopefully from your shower people will give you a variety of brands to try, too. Every diaper brand fits a little differently. Good luck!

Oh!!! And when you are in the hospital, (I had a nurse tell me to do this) every time they take the baby back to the nursery ( if you choose to let them), they restock the diapers on your baby's cart. Every time they being baby back, take the diapers out of the cart to take home. You will more than pay the hospital for them. Lol. I didn't buy any newborn sized diapers. (Granted, DS was 9 lbs, so he didn't need them much)

wowza, that's a lot! Every time I attempt to stock pile I stop myself because I remember with DD it took us a while to find a diaper that worked really well for her.
