I had an infant positioner with Maddie which was a summer infant mesh breathe easy model. I was shocked to read at the weekend that now the FDA does not approve of them and that deaths have been linked to their use. I took mine out as soon as she was rolling over but gosh things just change in the blink of an eye as far as what is and what is not acceptable.

I wondered why I missed it when we did our registry and now I know that they don't even sell them now except for very few models which are more like co-sleepers.

I had a friend use one with her first baby. He was only a few weeks, defiantly not rolling yet, and she woke up to him crying and the thing was on top of him. So I never used them

Ohh! Is that why I can't find them!?!?!? I used one with Chase and was really happy with it because it kept him in place... like you though I took it out once he could roll. I'm really surprised to hear this though! I thought they were a SAFETY item!

What are we supposed to use now to keep them still?

If it were me, I'd roll two recieving blankets up and put them under the sheet.

I never really understood the point of them... it seems like forcing the baby to not move AT ALL would just make it harder for them to self-soothe later on down the road...
