Ok so there is gender specific, and nuetral. I understand having gender specific/neutral clothes, and get the same for items directly belonging to baby such as the carseat they ride in, bedding they sleep in, stroller etc. Here is my ramblings in my brain today. If *I* am carrying the diaper bag, is it ok to carry one *I* like? If one was having a by would it be ok to carry a flowery pink and purple bag, or if one was having a girl could mama sport a John Deer bag? I have been looking at other mamas and I have always seen girly for girls, and mascculine for boys or Neutral. But never have I seen a mama with a boy with a girly diaper bag or a mama with a girl carrying a boyish type bag. The same thing with wraps or slings. Am i crazy?? I am thinking of going out on a limb and starting a fad

Oh my. I have found a diaper bag that is just so me! I am hoping they still have it in stock come payday

I don't see why you couldn't! But you are right, it seems mamas with girls get girly or GN and mamas with boys get boy or GN diaper bags. It's weird since it's YOUR bag to carry HIS/HER things, so why not be a bag you like?!

I'm not big on gender specific things. I mean, I fall into some mold of it, like I probably won't dress little dude in pink & frills but as far as 'our' stuff, I'll get what I like. I think no matter what you do someone, somewhere will eventually confuse your child with the opposite gender. It used to happen to my DD all the time because she was bald and I never used headbands or anything overly girlie.

You can carry what you want. I get gender specific, because I hate people calling my boy a girl and my girl a boy. But then again my daughter was in a pink outfit, with earrings and a pink headband, in a pink car seat, with a pink blanket and some dumby asked me "how old is HE?" Really? If you are color blind then ask how old is the baby!

I don't think it matters. I myself am a fan of gender specific stuff, i just think it's fun, but it's a definitely a personal choice, and I wouldn't think twice if I saw someone with a boy and a girly bag, or vice versa!

I prefer gender specific personally, but DH doesn't and said he will get himself a "manlier" diaper bag instead of carrying mine... so in his case, he'll have probably a bag geared for a boy for his daughter

I do gender neutral for the big stuff (crib, car seat), gender specific for things like clothes and bedding and the diaper bag I always just chose what I liked!

Me personally I like gender specific items, but I think everyone is different. So you should get what YOU like!

I carry what I like! I think most of the time people receive diaper bags as gifts at showers, and people give gender specific. I got a very boyish bag with DS, but when the strap broke I bought what I liked.

Our big stuff is all gender neutral. For the diaper bag I just get what I like because I'm the one carrying it. I had a black and purple one at the start with ds and didn't think twice about it.
The one I mostly use is a black messenger style one but I just bought a red skip hop messenger style one because I fell in love with the colour.

We do gender neutral for all our big items. I've done pretty gender neutral for things like diaper bags too. I don't love especially girly things, but even if I did, I think I'd feel funny dropping off one of my boys in a nursery with a girly bag.

I'm not a fan of gender neutral things. I've always just gotten gender specific diaper bags. I don't see why you couldn't just buy one that you liked though

I'm usually gender specific, but since this is my fourth girl, I am SO NOT DOING PINK AND PURPLE.... I have a brown/pink stroller that I will use, but I will completely step out of the box and go with other colors.

Funny what mom2rickyranajavier said- that's happened to me before. My girl totally decked out in Pink, Lace, all girl stuff and an old man called her a boy!! I'm thinking, "you must be joking"- he wasn't !! maybe he was color blind.
