We told the kids what we chose and they all hate her name. One of the older girls actually said that she will have a horrible life because she has a horrible name. I actually told them to stop talking or I would blow up. This is our baby not theirs.

Now I am having second thoughts. DH is set and doesnt care how anyone feels about the name.

I think it's a beautiful name! Sorry your kids hated it Maybe it will grow on them or they'll have a nick name for her and it won't matter. I don't think she'll be made fun of for that name or have a horrible life. Maybe your daughter was just acting out for attention by saying that? Don't let it upset you. Also you can ask your daughter what names she likes and tell her she can name her kids that when she has kids one day, and that she should try to remember that even the names she loves, there will be people who hate the names she loves, too.

I'm sorry!

Our kids don't like Georgia either, but we told them to get over it and they can pick names when they have their own babies (in many, many, MANY years! lol)

Aww, I am sorry your daughter is acting up about that! Once the baby is here and being everyone is calling her by her name it will feel so right that nobody with think of an opinion of the name by itself.. it will just be the baby's personality associated with it.

Aw I'm sorry! My little guys aren't old enough for an opinion but when we were naming them we actually changed DS2s name because everyone got in our heads! I think the name you chose is pretty and they will get over it!

I have a friend named Rayna and she loves her name. I think its a beautiful name. If you and your DH truly love the name that's all that matters!

Rayna is a beautiful name and I have a friend with that name as well.

Gizelle, that could give her a bad nick name...lol but I guess kids don't know all the dirty slang words yet

Wow, I love the name Rayna! We aren't telling anyone the name either, just DH and me, plus you guys. I just don't care to hear people's opinions. After the baby is born you (usually) don't hear the negative stuff. You have to choose what you like for your baby

I agree that Rayna is a beautiful name! We don't announce names either because I don't want to hear people's oppinions and then if we annouce it at the birth most people don't say anything then and are just happy to see the baby!

My oldest daughter doesn't like the name we picked out, (Grayce) but, Dh and I and our younger girls do. I'm not completely sold on it yet- but nothing else is coming to me. My oldest dd says she will get "teased" with that name. I don't think so.

btw, I think Rayna is a pretty name!!

I think Rayna is a pretty name. I have a feeling that a teenage girl wouldn't like any name, unless she picked it out herself

rayna is a beautiful name! i also learned telling people the name we picked was not such a great idea. my sons name is zaiden, my mother hates hates hates it, she is very christian and says it sounds like satan and she has to call me every time she tells someone her grandsons name and they question if i named him satan... now that he is here i couldnt imagine him being named anything else it just fits! once your little girl is born they wont care if you named her bertha they will just be excited to see that little bundle of joy!
