so had an ob who said i could do a vbac turned out she is a liar and has no hospital privleges, while looking around for another vbac friendly ob no one and i mean no one would take me once they saw my records, finally one doctor said he would sit and talk with me before making a decision and that appointment was today, i first thanked him for speaking with me about this before turning me away and he said well i wanted to hear what had happened during the birth of your son and not just go off of doctors notes. i had told him how i was not aloud to move positions except for laying down i told him how they had me push before i felt an urge and how when i finally had an urge i knew i needed to be on my hands and knees to push but i was not allowed. he approved me for a vbac! he said he will not have me push until i feel the urge even if im already fully dilated and that i can of course get up do what i need to do, THANK GOD! of course he went over risks saying they are minimal but i need to know they are there and to think about vbac and make sure it was what i want. something that the doctor told me which is the reason why the other doctors declined me without talking to me is that my previous ob who delivered my son diagnosed me with cpd which i was never ever told that, and i think that is a bunch of bs! this doctor said that could have just been my previous ob's interpretation of what happened and he isnt going to just go off of that and when i need a pelvic exam he will tell me what he thinks, (from what i have read cpd is hard to diagnose and most ob's will put that if baby doesnt descend but usually baby not descending is due to poor care or mother not being in right position etc etc and cpd is very rare now these days...) but if i do have it i am at a lower percentage to vbac successfully but he said is not impossible. im pretty confident in this ob this far but i dont want to say i completely love him just because i have some bad juju or something and always get screwed one way or another. also i have another appointment tomorrow to finish my anatomy scan due to baby being in bad postion and i will finally hopefully get that 100% confirmation that it is a boy! never been so excited to see a penis im telling you!
Glad you found a doc that would sit down with you to listen to what happened. Its frustrating when docs go strictly off of your chart. Hope everything turns out okay and you get the birthing experience you want.
Soon as I read the last doc said you had cpd, I was happy to see you have done your research, true cpd IS very rare. Squatting or hands and knees are good positions for opening the pelvis up. Laying on your back is really one of the worst positions to birth in.
So glad he is allowing you a trial of labor! I am happy for you.

Woohooo! So happy you have an OB that is willing to hear you out and will let you have your vbac. I hope it all works out well for you and you don't even have to worry about another section if it's not medically necessary. Please keep us updated!
