I called my doctor at about midnight last Tuesday and he didn't sound too concerned, basically just said as long as I'm not passing any larger clots or bleeding through a pad an hour just to take it easy and it should subside.

Still, that doesn't make me feel any better. I got up to go to the bathroom and was bleeding lightly - like a light period. Heavier than spotting, but I wouldn't classify it as anything more than like the beginning or ending of a period. After going pee I got up and there was a clot in the toilet... the kind you get when you're on your period and using a pad (sorry for the TMI description!) It wasn't HUGE but it was definitely bigger than like... a dime or so, and when I flushed it somewhat "reshaped" into a stringy-like clot that didn't stay clumped together as a whole but stuck enough to be connected to itself (this makes no sense, sorry!)

Anyway since then I've not seen any blood but the following day I had spotting that faded to brown and went away completely, then on Friday I had a little spotting too but I was at work and on my feet for 16 hours straight. Nothing since then.

If this "clot" was my mucus plug, does it regenerate? I don't have any idea what was going on but now I just feel kinda blah and sore.

Baby is moving still, nothing else is really out of the ordinary... I just want to know what happened. Anyone else ever experience this, and if so what did your doctor do? I can't help but feel that he somewhat shrugged it off.

When is your next appointment?

Personally, that would freak me the hell out and I would demand to be seen, but that is just me and my personal history, which isn't too good when it comes to any bleeding during pregnancy.

I am sorry to hear you are worrying! I would be, too! If you are really worried, I would still call back and ask to be seen to ease your mind.

I think its normal in some pregnancies. I don't necessarily think your doctor was blowing you off, however with that being said, if you're still freaked out about it, call them and ask to be seen for a quick appt. MOST offices will accomadate.

Sorry you have to deal with this! I *think* the mucous plug CAN regenerate but I'm not positive. Knowing my doctor, he would want to see me in the office and check on everything if it was me, but he tends to be pretty cautious since he is a high risk dr. Did you let them know that you are still bleeding and passed a clot?

I would go to the ER (who will send you to Labor and Delivery for a check and monitoring) if your doctor isn't doing anything about that. I would be really freaked out if that happened to me. Many times, everything would be fine, but you'll still be worried until you get confirmation.

Also, yes, the mucous plug can regenerate, if that's what it was.

Wow.. scary.. I've never had bleeding during pregnancy, so I don't have any advice. I hope you get some answers and that it doesn't happen again!!

I would definitely ask to be seen. They don't send you to L&D here from the ER unless the OB sends you and calls ahead so I wouldn't go to the ER, but every place is different.

I would have definitely have gone in to be checked! But I'm sure everything is fine if it has stopped. How are you feeling today?
