I was just trying to make it until tomorrow because I have an appointment anyway and I hate calling unless it's a TRUE emergency. I'm still not sure it is, but I do know that on the car ride home from lunch, ONE of my feet swelled up a scary amount. It's down a little now, but still very visibly more swollen than my other foot. It's hard to even get a flip flop on that foot So, I'm doing what some of you ladies told me I should have done a couple days ago. I called my midwife and now I have to wait for a call back.

I think that was a wise decision. Let us know what happens!

I don't think it's anything bad, but I might need some kind of specialized change to my diet or something? Between this and the weight gain I know something isn't working the way it should with my body right now. Still waiting for a call back.

I got a call back They recommended alfalfa pills and watermelon, and to continue to do the other things I'm already doing (keep feet elevated, drink water, exercise).

Well, neither of those can hurt. I have been thinking of adding alfalfa too, not for swelling though. Hope it helps some and you start to feel better.

Alfalfa is a diuretic, reducing water retention. It also has other benefits in the last trimester.

That's interesting - I didn't know alfalfa was a diuretic. I understand being hesitant to call even when it's totally resonable. I have a strong desire to not be the high maintenance or crazy patient - I know there have been times when I should have spoken up about an issue but didn't want to, or just assumed whatever was going on was normal.
