I know a lot of us are starting to have AF-like cramps and that to a certain extent they are normal at this stage in pregnancy.
When exactly are you supposed to take them more seriously and let a doctor know?
I have had some for a little while now but nothing horrible or worrisome. However, I also have BAAAAAAAD AF cramps so I wonder sometimes if the "slight" cramps I feel are actually the ones I should be worried about. KWIM?
Anywho, that's not the point of this post lol
Right now I am having some pretty decent AF-like cramps. Feeling very heavy at the bottom of my belly and in my girly parts. The cramps aren't awful where I want to cry or anything but they made me stop and think. Honestly, when they first started I apparently had a brain fart and thought to myself, "Oh geez I think my period just started!" (clearly forgot I was pregnant for a minute) They're lightening up a bit but totally noticable.
Normal? Or should I call Ob tomorrow morning?
*Thank you to *Kiliki* for my beautiful signature!*
I don't know. I had some pretty bad cramping last night, but it went away today, and it had me wondering when to say something to the midwives. I think baby has gotten lower, because I am feeling a lot more pressure in general. Anyway, I hope you get some relief soon!
Mama to two boys (6 and 2 years old) and expecting a third in August!
Ugh, I don't know....we are coming up on the part of pregnancy I HATE where I am constantly worrying that I am or am not going into labor and I can never tell because i have mever gone into labor on my own. (And then in my case all the worrying and wondering is usually for nothing and I end up being induced LOL)
I HAVE read though, I think that contractions do feel like AF cramps to some people un the early stages..? I bet you are fine but if they keep up through the night maybe call?
I went in to be checked last Monday b/c I had been having 'cramps' for several days. Dr/nurse said more than 10 an hour and uncomfortable/painful is when you need to be checked. The first day mine where 4 min apart for almost an hour and a half. I should have gone right away but was hoping it would just stop :0) they did finally but she said if that happens again come in right away
That's how contractions feel to me throughout labor, really bad period cramps. They just never go away.
I'd say make sure you have had enough water to be hydrated, relax for a bit and see if they stop. If not call and ask them what they want you to do.

I have had some on and off the past few days, in addition to some mild braxton hicks contractions. I am actually thrilled I'm getting these (as long as they don't progress to anything until july 31st at the earliest!). I got absolutely nothing when pregnant with my first. Not a twinge or a cramp and when I hit 39,40,41 weeks, I was miserable and would have absolutely loved to feel a cramp. Maybe this baby will come by itself and won't need to be evicted!
My contractions feel like period cramps. In my back, up through my belly and then down on my pelvis and upper legs. I can also feel my uterus tighten if I touch the top of it with my fingers when it happens. When I get really bad contractions they stop me in my tracks and I cant do anything, but mostly they are just nagging make you notice them type cramps. Do you notice any period of time where they intensify? The cramping never goes away for me, but it is noticeable when I am inbetween contractions versus actually having one. If you notice that you are having contractions my doctors told me to drink a bunch of cold water and lay down. If after an hour they are still there to call and go in to L&D.
Thanks so much to Jaidynsmum for my adorable siggy
