The name we had picked out for the longest was
Terrell Nathan Woods III
after my grandfather (Nathaniel). The husband feel like if we gone name him after my grandfather we should use the whole name
Terrell Nathaniel Woods III

I like the thought of just calling him Terrell Nathan but some say
(Husband) thinks it doesn't sound as good as Nathaniel with our last name. What do u guys think? I think regardless I will still call him Terrell Nathan.

Hmmm. I think both sound fine really.

I like Nathaniel, it's my son's name, and today is his 12th bday.

How often do you really use his middle name anyway?

That was a lot of help in deciding now wasn't it?? LOL

I generally like using the "whole" traditional name officially and then calling by a nickname, but I don't think it really matters for middle names. And since your grandfather is the namesake, I think it should be up to you! Both sound nice, and your son will have a great name either way.

I also like Nathaniel best.. Also, you can always make a name shorter with the nickname (even with the middle name Id guess- show how mad you are by shortening it to Nathan or when you go Nathaniel he really knows hes in trouble).. but to add letters to a name doesnt work as well.. Once you are at Nathan thats it. Nathaniel can be both... However, either way you choose I think the name flows well.

I think Nathaniel fits better. I'd use Nathan for a first name but I think Nathaniel flows with the whole name much better.
