My Ob says she still can't tell position from just the Doppler and feeling...
So what are your guesses on my baby's position?

-hiccups felt above belly button
-heart rate was found above belly button at today's visit
-kicks felt all along right side of abdomen
-upper left side is a large "lump" (for lack of a better term)
-crotch lightning off and on

Whatcha think? Ill find out for sure on the 16th (cervical check)

sideways? lol. I feel hiccups low and I know he's head down. However my large 'lump' is on my upper right side and I'm pretty sure it's his butt.

I'm having nearly every single symptom you describe and as of last week Riley was in an incomplete breech position, so my uneducated guess is that you have a breech one as well!

The lightening down there tends to be worse in early evening when I'm lounging on the couch. I literally yelped LOUD the other day when she got me good. My poor cat looked at me like I had 3 heads.

hmm, my baby is head down and most of what you have is opposite of mines. I feel hiccups lower, the heart beat was found below my belly button, I mostly feel kicks high up or high/sides, the lump moves from side to side daily, and it seems recently that I always have the crotch lightning (gotta love that word ) So, I'm gonna guess breech.

I think my LO is head up as well. I was looking online and it said that if you have a large lump that you think is the butt at the top, put your hand against it and slightly push. If its the babys butt, he/she will move. If its babys head, he/she wont move. I get kicks all over along with flutters that are supposed to be hand/toes all over my tummy. I dont have one single iota where he currently sits as he wiggles ALL day long.

Because of where my placenta is (front and a little lower) I feel him in a weird way but he's been head down since like 28weeks for sure. They have a hard time finding him on Doppler at times and at 34weeks heard him best up high so they thought he might be breech and switched the ultrasound on to see and he was head down just the placenta made him harder to find.. I also have had his butt (a large lump) up in my ribs from 30weeks on and he kicks to the sides and up. Down low I feel his head pushing on my cervix now and I can tell his arms because they aren't as strong and almost tickle down in that area or cause a few sharp feelings when he puts his hands up by his face sometimes causing crotch lightning.

That being said, I'm not sure where your placenta is but if its similar to mine, she could be head down still and she's just having fun confusing doctors?

Melissa you may be on to something! I never thought about the placenta effecting where I am feeling her move. My placenta is exactly like yours- front and low.

I'm curious if that's what's going on here too. At my last ultrasound (21 weeks I think) she was head down. Hoping she still is but I've been worried about her being breech from the day I found out I was pregnant for some reason

The u/s tech told me the big bump was his back so my guess for your little girl is head down, big bump is curve of the spine and right side is feet.

I would say breech too as that is consistent with what I felt with Maddie.

With this one, its completely different and I am guessing she is head down but will find out on Monday as I have a sonogram then. I feel hiccups low usually to the right side, big bulge on right upper side (likely butt), round ball thing that tries to dislocate my left hip at times and causes intense pain - guessing that is her head. Literally she wedges it in between my acetabulum. That's at least what it feels like.

heartbeat on nurses Doppler and on mine is consistently on right side below belly button about an inch downwards. Feel kicks high up below left side of ribs.

I did the belly mapping thing on spinningbabies.com and found that I could identify what I think is her position using that.

I guess breech since that's opposite of how Z is and she's been head down for over a month.

Ahhhh I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if she is breech.
I'm going to start studying spinningbabies so I have an idea of what to do if she is actually breech, because I definitely would want to try to avoid a c/s

She has time to flip still though right?

I'd describe what I'm feeling as fairly similar to what you've described and I have been worried that baby is/was breech, but I've had three different midwives tell me in the last month that they are confident that she's head down.

Sometimes I feel hiccups low, but often I feel them in the big hard lump that's under my ribs. They say that's her butt. They say that when you push on the head it will move side to side apart from the rest of the body, but when you push on the butt, the baby's whole body will move too.

I feel lots of movement low, and some stretches up high.

Basically, I've concluded I have no idea!

My baby sits head/both arms/one foot up in my ribs, the other foot bent. I feel hard kicks and wiggles way up high, small movement down low (foot wiggling). hiccups are typically belly button area or higher, arms stretch and I can feel them on the outer sides of my belly. Big lumps always are higher than my belly button, typically shoved directly up against my rib cage.

I had an ultrasound last week and baby was transverse. My dr scheduled me for an ECV which I went to today, she is definitely head down now. I didn't even need the version. So, for the past week and even today the dr finds her heartbeat above my belly button and I feel her hiccups up high. I have an anterior placenta too, so maybe that is why we feel them so differently.

I bet ya your LO is head down too
