I can't stand the bulky pads the hospital provides. I bought a couple packs of always ultra thin overnight pads with wings. I used them after I had my son. I doubled them up until the bleeding slowed down and they seemed to work ok. What kind are you going to use?

I use the big ones in the hospital cos the first few days are so messy. After that I just use Kotex ultra thin without wings. Wings always chafe me.

I use the hospital ones until they run out- they're awkward but they worked so much better than anything else, especially during the first few days when it's so icky.

After that I'll just use some heavy duty overnight with wings lol Maybe even 2 at a time! lol
BeachMum and KeLLiC09 like this.

I bleed a LOT. I use the hospital ones for a week or so or until I run out and then the extra heavy overnight maxis after that.

I bought the heaviest overnight maxi I could find ( I think they are always) and then I bought a box of heavy flow to get me thru the later weeks. I typically use the thin overnight with wings for a typical flow but I think there's too much blood for those.

I bleed a lot at first too so I need the hospital ones. The ones I buy are heavy absorbency with wings. A thin pad doesn't cut it until at least 4-5 days later for me.

I used cloth with my last baby and I just ordered the fabric to make more this time. I'm just way more comfy in cloth.

I'll use the hospital ones until they run out then whatever maxi pads are in our stockpile. We have a selection of always, kotex and walgreens own brand I think. I just gave a ton away to the people involved in the Oklahoma tornado, so I'll have to see what we have on hand.

Always infinity were the best for me. I had one lonely pad left after my last kid and I've already packed it and another box for the next baby!

I also use the hospital pads for 3-5 days and then switch to Always Infinity. I don't love wearing the synthetic pads for as long as the bleeding lasts (with my first it was only 6 weeks but #2 was 12 weeks and #3 was 11 weeks!) because they do get pretty uncomfortable, but I'm not ready to make the switch to cloth. I love cloth diapers for my babies, but I've tried cloth nursing pads and hated them and I'm just unwilling to make the initial expenditure to see whether or not I like cloth pads.
