I am! I teach 8th grade Science and I am nervous about the bonding part as well.

For me, I am leaving basic outlines of my expectations and also leaving a list of the activities/labs and quizzes/tests that I want students to do for each unit. The daily timing and details is up to the sub.

It is overwhelming...and I am taking off 12 weeks!

Yea hubby is an 8th grade science teacher too... he is taking 3 weeks since I will be having a csection. Since we work for the same district we have to split FMLA. Also they count my leave from the birth of baby even if its during the summer :-(. So with my section on Aug 5 I am using my full 12 weeks but only missing 6 weeks of actual instruction.
I guess I will just worry bout it when I return...
