It's been 8 days and I am still very sore and feel unable to do many things. It's getting kinda depressing and I keep wondering if I'm going to be able to keep up on things. DH is back at work and my MIL was here today, but I'm on my own tomorrow.

How long does it take to recover??? This seems like forever. I was hoping to feel a little better by now.

After the first 1.5 weeks I was feeling a lot less sore as long as I didn't take long walks or anything. I was pretty much feeling back to normal around 3 weeks, but I tend to heal quickly and have been told by other friends with c/s that I was lucky in my recovery. I've heard it's a harder recovery too if you labored before the cesarean. Hopefully you feel better soon!

I had a c section as well 2 weeks ago and I am still sore. I am not relying on my pain medication nearly as much as I had too. I am doing a lot better as long as I don't do long walks or heavy cleaning around the house. I still can't pick up my 3 year old or vacuum.
So I think it's normal for you to still be sore at this time. I know I am. Just continue to take it easy and keep resting when you feel you're starting to get sore.

I had a C section with Nathan at the end of July and by 10 days out, I was able to do most things. I heard the more you move around the quicker you'll recover. That's what I did and healed quickly! Good luck

Michael is 12 days old and I am still very sore. I have not been able to do much at all. If I am moving around too much then the pain comes on stronger. I absolutely hate this!! It makes me sad. I can't handle not being able to do all the things that need doing around my house!

EXACTLY the way I feel. Especially when I don't mind doing laundry and vaccumning the floor,. but I can't! Everyone else in my household throws a fit when I ask them to do these things. Pitiful.

I don't know if I should feel better or worse with your comments. I am happy I am not just a whiner or it's because I am an "older" mom- (only other people make comment about that) I don't think it's any more difficult being a mom at this age- but, I am thinking since most of you have had a hard time recovering I will be the same. I was told that my butterfly strips might start peeling off on their own today. They haven't started to come off yet... do you think some of the pain is caused by those? I'm hoping that once they come off it'll be a little less uncomfortable? I am managing my pain with alternating Tylenol and Motrin now. A lot of the pain is due to the cramping of my uterus. I am still bleeding pretty bad.

If you just have a C-section and don't go through labor, do you still bleed a lot?

Grayce is 10 days old and I still haven't drove. I don't have to for another 4 days. At that point, things will pick up ALOT. I plan on just lifting her out of the car seat instead of trying to carry her in it. Just carrying her around is about as much weight that I can handle at this point.

Anyone have any suggestions??

I didn't have a whole lot of bleeding post partum, but some do. It will vary depending on how active you are.

I also took Arnica (it's a homeopathic healing remedy) and I think that helped. I also didn't have staples, just glue and they took off the surgical tape on day 2.
