Who has started or planning to start making homemade baby food for their baby to eat in a few months? I made unsweetened homemade applesauce last night, it was so much fun and turned out so good! I'd also like to try squash soon...what do you plan on making?

I'd like to make most of it but I won't start until after 6 months. I have a Baby Bullet. I don't usually make the meats though, those seem like a pain in the butt, so I've made a lot of the fruits and veggies and then DH picks up meat ones at the store.

It sounds cool but I've never tried it. DS1 never ate 'baby food' he wouldn't take anything other than breastmilk until we got to finger foods for him.

Hi, just lurking from the July DDC. I started my LO on solids last week. I got a Baby Bullet for my baby shower and the first time I used it, it was leaking a bit underneath. Not cool. I suspect it will not last very long and I will probably end up having to use just a regular blender. I like the little feeding containers and the plastic freezer tray, though.

So far I've made carrot puree and a sweet potato puree. He loved the carrot puree and would take big bites from the spoon, but he totally hated the sweet potato puree. To be honest, I tasted it myself and it wasn't very good all watered down like that.

The carrots I boiled and blended with the same water that I boiled them in and it was really flavourful. I did the same for the sweet potatoes but I think maybe next time I will bake them rather than boil them and maybe mix in some breast milk instead of water.

I also gave him a banana puree which he loved, but it made him really gassy so I'm going to wait a few weeks before giving it to him again.
