Hi, I just had my 1 hour test today, and it was 124. My doctor said he'd be "very surprised" if I failed the 3 hour, but I was just wondering if any of you remember your level from your 1 hour test? Thanks!!!

I dunno what mine was, but I'm surprised you have to do the 3 hour after that! I've read the lowest cutoff is about 130

I think my 1 hr was 168, if I remember correctly, and needed to be under 140. I agree with Bright Future, at my clinic, I dont think they'd be having you do the 3hr at all.

I'm surprised they're having you do the 3 hour with that result. That's very normal. I would ask him why they're going to make you do the 3 hour.

My 2nd pregnancy mine was 190 and they skipped the 3 hour all together. I went straight to monitoring with diet.

And they made you do the three hour test? What were the results?

My doctor had a patient who had GD with 121, so I think it's a "cover your a&%" type thing ... ?

Hi there -

I'm surprised too that they're having you do a 3-hour test as well. My level at the 1-hour was 195 - super high compared to what they were looking for. That was with completely fasting prior to the awful orange drink also. After the 3-hour it was determined that I don't have it bad, just a little over the borderline of what they're looking for.

Good luck!

Wow! I can't believe you have to take the 3-hour! That number should be fine for a pass.

I opted to skip the 1 hour and just went straight for the 3 hour because of my last pregnancy and since both of my sisters had GD with their last pregnancies.

Mine was 138 but the dr told me the limit was 135. I'm surprised they are making you do a 3 hour test. Are you in the US? I wonder if Canada or other countries have different standards.

Thanks so much everyone for your replies!

Yes, I am in the US. I did some reading today and I found about 20 sites that say the cut offs are usually 140, sometimes 130. One site said that some practitioners may even go as low as 120 but this is overkill.

Oh well, I will go in for the three hour on Saturday, and eat lots of carbs till then ... that's what I'm supposed to do!

My one hour was 165.

With the three hour, it was as follows:

Fasting: 88
One Hour: 186 (s/b under 189)
Two Hour: 198 (s/b under 165)
Three Hour: 167 (s/b under 145)

I'm whammied!!! I've been totally diet-controlled, thank God!!
