Hey, I am 18 weeks and I don't know why but I am sure I have gest. diab....I think I take the test for it in a few weeks to be sure. Its good to know that if I do have it there is an awesome group on JM to chat with.
I agree! This has been a very helpful board so far, as well as very supportive! Some of the ladies on here have helped me even out my sugars with the suggestions they've given me and helped me avoid having to use insulin injections. Yay!
I was pretty sure I was going to have it this time too. Both my sisters had it with their last pregnancies. Just try to eat low carbs and check out the site that Bright posted. It has a lot of great information!
Not necessarily. I have a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch on a regular basis, and galic breadsticks with dinner occasionally. Low carb for diabetes is NOT like Atkins As my DH likes to put it, you can have anything you want, just not EVERYTHING you want Of course, some things I just don't bother with right now, because the "bang for the buck" isn't very good. Example: I don't drink juice because it's a lot of carbs for very little "filling". And I largely stay away from sweets, but that doesn't seem to be bothering me much.
I only have to watch my carbs closely at certain meals. For lunch I seem to be able to eat anything and everything without any problems with my blood sugars. Breakfast and dinner are a different story, so I try to make the most of my lunch meals.
