So at my Drs the cut off point is 130, and I got 133. (even though I was sure it was 140)
So I have to take the 3 hour test tomorrow morning. I wasn't told to eat a lot of carbs like a lot of people seem to be. I was told to eat normally. However, my normal diet is pretty low sugar/low carb to begin with.. I don't think I can eat more than 40g of added sugar a day.
Should I be worried that I'll get a false positive on the 3 hour test because of this ? It seems confusing in my head because if I don't eat that high of stuff normally wont my body act a little differently from having low glucose levels to incredibly high at once ?
Should I go eat something high in carbs/sugars before I have to fast ?

Should I even be worried about this ? o.O;

I'm not sure. When I did the 3hr with my son(I refused it with my daughter cause I failed the 1hr so high) I was told to eat normally for how I eat the day before and then fast for at least 12hrs prior to the test then I had to drink a glucola with 100g(i believe it was grams) of glucose.

I went today and I got sick about 2 minutes after I drank it. It's just going to happen each time I try to go back. I might just refuse it. I know I don't have it, and even if I do, I already pretty much follow a diet as if I did have it (minus a few things here and there). So hopefully my doctor will just let me slide, since I didn't even get a number over 140 the first time. o.O;

I failed the 1 hr with a 156 I think. When I went to do the 3 hr I failed the fasting draw so I didn't even have to drink the stuff. What was your fasting number? Sometimes they will let people eat a meal and then they check their levels. See if your dr will let you do that.

Thanks SandKmommy for my siggy!

I wouldn't worry to much about this until you do your 3 hour test.. It's best to keep doing what your doing.. If you have GD, the test will show that you do..

I think I failed my 1 hour test with a 160.. Then I took the 3 hour test, but only failed 1 part of the test and was on the max one one draw.. My OB still said I had GD and in the end I did.. The most important thing is that it was caught before it did any harm to my daughter.. With this pregnancy, I started monitoring my blood sugars when I found out I was pregnant.. I have so many risk factors.. I wasn't even going to wait for a test to confirm me.. such as life..

Well, I got sick with the 3 hour so my doctor said I could do the one-hour again since it was pretty borderline. If I fail that she said instead of taking the 3 hour test I can just monitor my blood sugar for a week and see if everything seems normal or not.
