I've been sick the last several days with a bad cold. My fasting numbers have been crazy! 86, then 97, then 82 yesterday. Today it was 91. The only meds I've taken so far was one dose of guaifenesin last night at 9pm for coughing so I can't blame it on that. I've been sticking to the diet pretty well, and my post-prandial numbers have been good except for one rogue high after-breakfast number yesterday that was unexplainable.

When our bodies are under stress, our own natural insulin producing abilities take quite a nosedive. My sugars went insane when I first got pregnant, until my body got used to all the hormones. I'll bet your rogue numbers are entirely due to your body being stressed.

I hope that's it. I just got a 150 after breakfast - after eating the exact same thing I had for breakfast yesterday, which gave me a 120.

Hormones fluxuate a lot, especially for me around the 34-35 wk mark. It's really challenging... I finally got my fasting number back under control by doing yoga before my bedtime snack. Guess my body needed some movement! Do you have time to walk around the house a bit before testing? If you're really sick though, the exercise might help more than hurt. Hope you feel better soon!

^ The thing is, I did more exercise after breakfast today because I walked the kids to preschool/daycare this morning after breakfast, and yesterday I didn't have to do that. Weird. My post-lunch number was great though . . . tonight will be fish with brown rice & broccoli, which has never given me a bad number. Guess I just have to be extra careful til this cold gets knocked out.
