I'm due Jan 15. I have to make it through TG and Xmas dinners. How do you plan to deal with this? If your making dinner at home, have you made a menu plan yet? If your eating at someone else's house, what do you plan to eat?
We've decided to go to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm just going to eat. I figure just one meal where I eat what I want rather than have leftovers here to tempt me. I'd have a really hard time having leftovers around.
I'm due Jan 22nd, so I'll be right there with you fighting all the temptations! Lucky for me, I don't like a lot of the starchy savory holiday foods like stuffing and sweet potatoes - I'm all about the turkey! We're going to my MIL's for Thanksgiving, maybe I will try to make some whole-wheat rolls and green beans (things I know my kids will eat too) and hope I can control myself around the mashed potatoes. My main problem will be the desserts. I am nuts about holiday treats!! Artificial sweeteners make me naseous (plus I don't want the baby having them) so I'll be up a creek there. I'm going to try to make sure nobody brings my favorite desserts, and will try to make rice krispie treats out of Special K in hopes that the protein will help keep my sugar from spiking too quickly, so that I'll have some sort of a dessert.
