Well, the day I met w nutritionist (who had a sub, she was worthless) and nurse to find out how to do supposedly everything, I had mostly good, normal reads, except for one. Today, two good, two bad. Geez. I don't know if it was the 6 blackberries, milk, or granola bar? Feeling kind of frustrated.

It definitely wasn't the blackberries, those a pretty low carb and you only had a few. Could be the milk, that is pretty much all lactose sugar, and it could have been the granola bar, depending on which kind you get they can be high sugar.

It's okay to have fluctuations in your sugar level - it isn't going to be great all of the time. Especially in the beginning, it takes a little while to get the hang of it, and it takes your body a little while to adjust, to "get with the program" so to speak.

I have been diabetic since last February, and even I have bad days and numbers that surprise me. And I get frustrated too, that's totally normal. I actually had a rough few days this week, basically Sunday-Wednesday I was consistently higher than where I'm used to being. Not out of what's acceptable, but it was very anxiety provoking for me to be that high every time I checked. And even though I know darn well that this is what happens in late pregnancy, it was still very frustrating.

When I talked to the nutritionist, she said can the milk til later but ok to put a bit of lowfat cream in my coffee (no other way i'm drinking it and it's only 2g). And, apparently I can't do math lately as I need to cut the oatmeal in half, too many carbs AND add a protein and i'll probably only have time for a teaspoon of peanut butter as i need to get to work! She said i could have a bit of fruit. Also said later have just 4 oz. of milk 2x a day. Seems pathetic, when everything I know is that a prego should drink 4 glasses of milk a day and I was doing 3.
