Sorry I haven't checked the board in awhile. I am just having insulin issues. I am already on about 120 units of humalog daily to just cover meals. I wasn't on this much insulin with my other two pregnancies.....and I am on about 60 units of lantus every evening. My endo says I am doing fine. I just need more insulin then the average person. he told me you will end up taking as much insulin as you need to be as close to normal as you can get....I should have my new A1C sometime next week I had the blood work done on Thursday. I am hopin it much better...mine a month ago was 7.9 but in the last month my average is between 114-120 not bad from a fasting of 280+ a little over a month ago. Just wondering how many other women are on lots of insulin this early on.
If it makes you feel better I am not even pregnant yet and I am on 59 units of lantus each night. Then of course my meal insulin depends on my sugars levels throughout the day. It just depends on how insulin resistant you are, I don't think there is such a thing as to much insulin (long as you aren't making yourself hypo of course)
When I was pregnant I was on some crazy amount of insulin towards the end, At that time I was on novolin and novolog. I just kept requiring more and more.
