I think it went well, I've been following a generalized diet so far, and turns out it's pretty close to what I was told to follow today, so only a slight alteration to get used to. My body is starting to get used to eating when and what I am, though I admit I have HUGE sugar cravings! I was never eating copious amounts of sugar before or anything, but I would do bad, bad things for an ice cream right now! I tried a few sugar free treats, but they are GROSS and expensive. So I think I just need my body to get over it.

So, I have a follow up in a week, monitoring my sugar levels and recording what I eat daily until then, and I'll get a blood test done after the meeting, from there I guess they make a decision about insulin or not? Not too clear on that yet, but so far my numbers have stayed in a good range, so I'm hoping to stick to the diet only. Fingers crossed there!

I hope your sugars stay good! Sounds like you are on the right track, and hopefully can skip the insulin. good luck!

Oh my goodness, my sugar cravings my first few weeks were INSANE! I got hooked on fruit because of it. Nectarines and raspberries always seemed to do the trick.

Thanks girls, I think i might need to stock up on more fruit. Part of my issue with fruit is such a small portion eats up one of my carbs during a meal or snack, and I often end up not feeling full. I think maybe my body needs to adjust to the eating less/more frequently a bit better still.
