i've been diagnosed with GD about 19 weeks (now am 26 weeks) and have been put on insulin about a month ago. This is my question, my nutritionist upped my insulin from 18n to 20n to "dampen" my fasting and after breakfast numbers a bit. They're not at all high now but I can see it rising soon. Thing is, I started this last night and then this morning my fasting was at 96 and my 1hr after breakfast was at 135. Usually my fasting is on average 85 and after breakfast between 100-110. Is this normal, to have high numbers after upping your insulin??
Last time I had GD I had to increase the insulin every 3-5 days. I had to decide when and how much on my own since I couldn't possibly visit the nutritionist that often, and anyway once I got an idea about how much the GD was progressing it was kind of easy (the tricky part being to get the right amount of carbs onto my plate in the canteen).
