Hi everyone, I'm use to come here years ago, but have no idea what my old user name was, I even helped admin a board or a while. Anyhow I'm a 4th time mommy with 1st time GD. I've also got some issues with my thyroid being off this time around, it's usually stable during pregnancy even though I've got hoshimotos hypothyroidism. Anyhow, I was informed today that they want to start doing biophysical profiles weekly, I'm almost 32 weeks, and then NST's another day each week. Two appointments a week for something I feel unsure about. I dislike this level of monitoring, i feel it may lead to unnecessary interventions like induction, and I refuse to allow unnecessary inductions to happen based on a test that has known false positive results. Do any of you have any experience with this frequency of monitoring. Has anyone refuse the monitoring? Any info would be helpful, im extremely stressed by this. And knowledge is power, I refuse to give up having a choices and a voice, I need to be able to make an informed decision here!
Both times I've had GD (this pregnancy and my second), I've started twice a week NSTs about 34-35 weeks but only get BPPs if they can't get a good stretch of accels on the NST. There are also a couple of extra ultrasounds for growth check.
