I just found this forum and I am hopeing to connect with other moms with GD. I am pg with #2. I am only 8 weeks along but I had GD with my first so I am sure I will have it with my 2nd. I am trying to follow my diet plan from what I remember of it but I have moved since then and lost all my diet stuff so I am relying on memory. I think I may be off to a bad start though because I have already gained 6 lbs.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully we can share our experiances and insight. I am wondering if there is a thread on here that gives recepies to follow a GD diet. That is one thing I struggled with in #1 was having real meals and staying on the diet.
I am not aware if there are recipes posted here, but if you do a internet search, you will find tons of them. I am a horrible cook myself...luckily my husband likes to cook and is good at it. I have found that I just need to eat smaller portions of his "regular" meals and I can still keep my levels where I need them to be.

i have dieted much per se but made better choices.
like i will eat smaller portions and get more veggies instead of starches.
also instead of white bread i buy whole grain.
and i used to eat dessert (cupcake, brownie, icecream) one or two times a day and now i just allow myself one treat a day...or if i don't have any dessert all week i let myself go to coldstone icecream and get what i want.
also i bought a great blender to make fruit/yogurt smoothies so that satisfies my sweet tooth.
