I had a dr. appt. on the 12th in the afternoon. Right before I left I lost a big chunk of my mucous plug, I fully expected to be dilated to at least 3. So the midwife checked me and I was only 1 1/2, but very soft, she swept my membranes for me (which by the way did not hurt at all, I didnt even know she was doing it). Ive had people ask me why she did that at 37 weeks. My last 3 pregnancies were all born at 37 weeks, my cervix was favorable and she was pretty sure I wasnt going to make it to my next appt. So I went home to finish the day out, I do home daycare. I really didnt feel anything different and thought that the membrane sweeping didnt do anything. So we ate dinner and did our normal evening things. I had some cramping and a lot of braxton hicks but Ive had that for weeks now. I woke up around 2:30 in the morning with what I though could be labor. I kinda tossed and turned for about an hour and realized that it was indeed labor. Then I started with diarrhea, and got bloody show. My contractions started getting closer so I called the midwife she said it was up to me I could come in right then or wait a little bit since I was only 1 1/2 in the office that day. So I got up started getting things together, called my mom, the contractions were getting more intense so we left our house and got to the hospital around 6:15, on the way there I was worried maybe I had waited to long at home b/c the contractions were very close together and intense. (in my past labors, I never really had consistent contractions my whole labor, so this was different for me) well by the time they checked me in triage, which was as soon as I got there I was 6 cm. The nurse was breaking her neck to get me checked in and the lab work done b/c I most defintley wanted the epidural. For some reason it took the lab over an hour to get my lab work put in the computer. So like 2 hours later...

My midwife came in at some point to check on me and said I was 8, she said I could still get the epi but it was totally up to me. I was starting to feel some pressure. (I have had one natural delivery and 3 with epi's I swore I would never ever have another naturaul delivery) I guess I started to transistion and I started to lose it, I was in so much pain and I did NOT want to do it natural. At some point though I could not NOT push so I had to do it natural. Jackson was born at 8:36 AM, 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19 inches long. Perfect, with a headful of dark hair. I ended up needing 2 or 3 stitches. So there it is, Jackson's birth story, quick 6 hours but boy was it a roller coaster. My husband was awesome as was my midwife, Im so glad she was there.
