So, we went in Friday morning for my C section. Still wasn't sure on name when I went in. Had my usual problems with IVs, they blew a couple before getting one in and I went to the OR. Told them how bad the morphine made me itch last time so they started me on benedryl. The spinal took the first time this time unlike the 3 it took for Easton, but it was extrememly painful. I was hit with severe nausea and I was trying not to cry. A nurse brought me something to puke in and I kept heaving but nothing came out. They finally were set and let my mom come in. Of course I can't see what is goinjg on but once they are in and they start bringing him out I hear gasps about his size and I am thinking crap, this is a call the news 14 lb baby and nothing I have is going to fit him! Turns out he was 9 lbs and he really doesn't even seem so big to me.
He was born 6/14/13 at 9:40am, 20 inches and 9 lbs.
We chose the name Camden Vaughn. He has blond hair which I have never seen in a baby in my family. My FIL hates the name and went on and on while visiting saying Poor Baby will be picked on in school. I told Ron to get him out of there and at that exact moment I turned in the birth certificate form with the name that I had been putting off til I was sure.
I had my IV out a couple hours after the surgery (because they blew it again and I was sick of dealing with it) I only had ibuprofin in the hospital, along with allergy meds since the itching was again horrible. I have 30 staples in my incision which will be removed next monday. Other than when I bend I don't have much incision pain, but I have a lot of back pain. My blood pressure was high the last few weeks of pregnancy and it fluctuated while I was in the hospital. I am supposed to be doing a lot of laying down but that of course, is difficult. The staff was very nice at the hospital, Ron and I even got a complimentary celebratory dinner of steak that included sparkling grape juice, desserts. It was cute.
Congrats! I love the name! It was on our list for baby A (would have been Camden and Corbin) but I had a student this past year named Camden and I was going for something I hadn't heard in the classroom.
